Happy monday my amazing Hivers
Hope your week is having the
BEST start 😉
I shared a post about my favorite moments in Bornholm, and my
last post was about Gudhejm.
THIS post... Is about
Hammer Lighthouse
On Bornholm
The Hammer is a Danish f.d.
manned lighthouse on the N part
of Bornholm, the Southern Baltic
Sea. Staffed 1802-1990
In 1802 the lighthouse of Hammeren was built on northern Bornholm.
The lighthouse site is located on the southern part of the summit of a 70
m high granite height that is separated
from the rest of the island by a
deep crack valley.
Such amazing envirement 😍
The granite tower had an octagonal base
and was 7 m high, which together with
its location gave it a height of 85 m.
The lighthouse was built in design
covered with coal fireplace, the
second in order in Denmark after Nakkehoved double fire place.
In 1837 the lighthouse was rebuilt
from covered coal fireplace to mirror lighthouse with parabolic mirrors.
In 1872 the lighthouse was replaced by
a new tower with a lens apparatus.
The tower in granite was around, 21 m
high and placed just N of the former.
The lantern was equipped with a first order drum lens with a 5 wick moderator lamp.
In 1889, the quadruple character
was changed to intern (Oc). A
height-adjustable intermittent sleeve,
driven by clockwork and solder, was mounted around the burner.
The location was often exposed to fog,
and the beacon light was not always visible to the seafarers. This became the reason why the lighthouse Hammer Odde came to be built in 1895.
In 1907, the moderator lamp was replaced with a burner with incandescent type Lux light.
The fuel was kerosene.
In 1947 the lighthouse was electrified
and equipped with a 1000 W
incandescent lamp.
In 1990, the lighthouse Hammeren
was extinguished, which for 95 years
was lit in parallel with the nearby
lighthouse Hammer Odde.

HERE...
Is the view from the balcony that is Surrounding the lighthouse.
And here is a little view of the inside
of the lighthouse, this was
really cool.
The stairs!
Just wish I had taken more pictures from the inside, but it was not lots of space and hard to get a good shot 😜
The envirement all around this island
is so incredleble, beautiful view 😍
It's so peaceful and you feel close
to nature 😍 LOVE IT!
There are many ways to get around and walk is my nr 1 choice, but you can also choose the hellicopter if you want.
If you ever get to Denmark I highly
recomend Bornholm 😉
It is a beautiful place to visit, and much
to see. I promise that you wont
be dissapointed 😊
🔹❤️🔹
This was the Hammer Lighthouse,
and my next post will be about
Hammershus 🧱
SNEAK PEEK 😁
Hammershus is a well-fortified Castle
that is located on the island's
northwestern promontory,
near Hammeren.
So that is my next post to share and I have to say.... It was by far the coolest place of all on Bornholm 😁
Had it ALL ...
Beautiful enviroment, lots of cool
history, amazing ruin and I took
so many pictures that it was
hard to choose 😉
So Stay tune my peeps!
🔹❤️🔹
Have a wonderful week

I love lighthouses. My state has 9 of them. Awesome, wish I was there with you. I went to one in Maine years back. It was on a peninsula about twelve feet wide and a quarter of a mile long at the end of it was a thirty foot circle of land with the lighthouse on it. They put up railings the entire way because waves crash on the rocks lining it often. We got soaked getting to it that day. I’ll try to find my pictures of it.
So beautiful lighthouse!!! ^_^

Light houses are definitely one of my favorite places to go see! We have a bunch of them here in Massachusetts and New Hampshire and it’s certainly one of the things I look forward to seeing the most. I haven’t been able to go inside one yet but hopefully we get to!
