Ya, call it fear may be in this case, but there are a lot of real experience of people wishing for children and getting the wish fulfilled and some other diversified wishes. And I think, these beliefs also helps the society, unfortunately its decreasing and that could be the reason of increasing crime rate - when people do not fear.
