If you are a person who loves to travel, explore, experience... Do you remember the first land you wanted to visit when you started your passion for travel?
Today I will take you to the land I always wanted to go to when I was an office worker - a job that did not allow me to have too many days off or the money to go on a long trip.
At the end of 2019, I decided to quit my job and start my journey around Vietnam by motorbike.
Ha Giang is one of the most beautiful sections of that journey.
I arrived in Ha Giang city one evening after passing a ~3500km motorbike ride from Ho Chi Minh City through many lands.
After a night of rest, I began to explore this beautiful land.
💥 Day 1: Ha Giang - Quan Ba - Yen Minh - Dong Van - Lung Cu.
Following Highway 4C to get to the top of the country, I pass through Quan Ba - Yen Minh. The weather was not so favorable so I couldn't take many pictures.
Finally, the rain stopped and checked in to the Tham Ma slope - an extremely impressive highlight of the LQ 4C pass.
Most of those who pass here also stop by and look at this place because of the spectacular view of the slope when viewed from the top of the slope, as well as by the surrounding natural scenery. For backpackers, this is a very good road to challenge the steering wheel.
Leaving Tham Ma slope, I continued my journey to discover Dong Van rock plateau - the land of flowers growing on rocks.
Along the way there are many buckwheat flowers triangular circuit, you can stop to take pictures, note that the photography fee at flower gardens is usually 10k/person (~$0.4).
Next, I visited the Vuong family, also known as the Meo King's mansion. This is a relic area, a typical architectural work of the northern cat people.
Without stopping for long, I accelerated the journey to reach Lung Cu before dark.
I spent the night at a homestay of the cat people in Lo Lo Chai village; A village is located at the foot of the valley flagpole.
💥Day 2: Lung Cu - Meo Vac.
After breakfast at the homestay, I went up to visit the Lung Cu flagpole, which is considered the northernmost point of Vietnam.
It's a bit emotional now because I have finally traveled the length of the country (before that I went to Ca Mau - the southernmost point of Vietnam, but I will tell in another story).
Leaving Lung Cu, I returned to Dong Van town for lunch, then went to Meo Vac to check-in and stay.
I stay at Ma Pi Leng homestay (same name as the famous pass here)
After a long tiring journey, I took half a day to rest.
***💥 Day 3: Ma Pi Leng - cinnamon grape river - death cliff.
I spent 1 day exploring the nooks and crannies of the Ma Pi Leng pass, which is also known as the "happy road".
At noon, I followed Ta Lang pass to go down Nho Que river. A really challenging road for all bikers.
In the afternoon, according to some locals, I found a mountain peak on the hiking route of Ma Pi Leng, where there is a cliff of death protruding from the cliff. Do not try to take pictures if you are afraid of heights.
The surrounding scenery is also extremely majestic.
At the end of the day, I spend a little time exploring the surrounding villages, then return to the homestay to rest and prepare for the next adventure. But that's another story, I will tell you in the next blog.
Ha Giang is not as ostentatious as any other place. For me, it is the difficulties, dangers, aridity of rocks, and the simple simplicity of the people here that have created a strong attraction for this land.

I never been to Vietnam, but seeing this I think I should change that. Hope to be able to get there one day. It is still quite a journey - and with covid international travels are quite a pain...

I've been to Ha Giang more than once but I'm still excited when seeing your pics. It was a long trip and I always dream of having a trip around VN by motorcycle like you did. Great job!

Unfortunately none of the places I wanted to see didn't become reality for me since I don't afford travelling abroad so my bucket list is becoming longer and longer with each passing day but until I'll be able to see them, I explore every single part of my country ☺️
