Hello Hiveians and welcome back!

Today we're going to pick up where I left off on my previous post and explore the Valley of Fire!

For those who don't know, the Valley of Fire is a state park not too far from Las Vegas, which makes it almost a no brainer to visit if you're in the area.

We left off in the last post on the road to Valley of Fire at the break of dawn. We arrive, and it's a 15$ day fee. We pay that and then head to the first decent pull over spot to hang out, get orientated wit the area and have some breakfast, with a view.

While we're eating, a guy came by us and mentioned that a water pipe had burst not far from us and that some long horned sheep were by it having a drink. So we headed over to see if we could get a view.

We get there and don't see anything. We must have been too late, but then I notice something moving not far from us.

Not sure if he was another coming for a drink, or if we scared him off and he started coming back, but he came right back to the spot!

So that was a pretty awesome way to start the day here! After that we headed back to the van to make a game plan for the day. But first, we checked out the "Beehives" as they're called, since they are right where we were parked.

After that, we headed further into the park, heading towards the actual Valley of Fire and the Fire Wave. On our way to next stop was Atlatl Rock, which has ancient carvings on it, which you can see here.

It was pretty amazing to see something like this in it's authentic location and not a museum or something. We explored this area a bit and saw a few cool rock formations and small arches.

After that, it was back to the van and further into the park. But everywhere you drove, you just saw these amazing Red Rock formations and views!

Our next stop would be a relatively small hike down to an overlook of the Valley of Fire. It didn't take too long, but it wasn't too impressive either.

After that, we drove further down to a drive up look out point of the Valley of Fire, which also wasn't too impressive. But on our way there, we got temporarily road blocked.

From there, we headed to the trail head for the Fire Wave, which to me seemed like the coolest thing there. It's named after The Wave, which is a well known and famous formation in another part of Utah, but it's very difficult to get a permit to visit. So I had high hopes for the Fire Wave, and it delivered fairly well!

On the way down, there was a mountain to the right with some very cool rock formations and different colors running through it.

And then we got down to the Fire Wave!

It's amazing to see such incredible and alien formations like these! After that I wanted to hike the White Dome trail too, but time was a bit tight, as we had one other park to hit on our way to Zion that afternoon. We decided to hike a small loop of it as a compromise and try to come back on our return trip back to Vegas, so here's a little of what I saw on that.

After that, it was back to the road and off towards Zion, with one last look at the amazing road through this incredible canyon!

Hope you enjoyed this adventure, have you ever been to Valley of Fire? What do you think of it? What was your favorite image or images from this adventure?

Thanks for reading and stay tuned for the next installment of this amazing road trip adventure!

I know which place will you be writting about as soon as I saw the cover photo, without reading the title.
It is a nice getaway from Vegas. I really liked the park.
Great to see you back active!

It was amazing! Glad to see you recognized it right away, it is pretty special! And thank you, it's great to be ack with the community again! Can't wait to share more soon!

You just highlighted the details with images and made it like I was there as well.

Valley of fire really nice place.

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed! It is an amazing place to visit!

have you ever been to Valley of Fire?

Never been, but would totally go after seeing your pics. I don't get why people opt to visit NYC or Disneyland when they go to the US... I mean, the parks are way cooler.

Thank you! And I agree, but to each their own. I think it's more about seeing places like NYC and such in the movies and TV and thinking it's so amazing, until you get there lol

Definitely after seeing Home Alone a dozen times during the Christmas

Wow what an amazing place, I've never seen a place like this before, it makes you feel like you're on Mars:)

Thank you! And it does, but funny you should say that, because if you think this feels like Mars, just wait for a few more posts :)

Rub! I am very curious what this valley will look like in the afternoon at sunset. Dawn has also given it a fiery and eye-catching coat. A beautiful place

Thank you! And that is the tough thing about doing trips this way, I never get to have too much time at one place, but I may or may not have visited again on the way back, so stay tuned for that :P

Sure, the challenge is often interesting

Woww! This is really a very beautiful place, you must have had an interesting trip. The shapes of the cliffs attract me, nature and its creation are truly magical. I was also impressed with the image of a sheep with a longhorn. The captions for each image help me understand this Valley better, thank you for sharing it.😍

Thank you! And I'm glad you enjoyed! Yes, Nature is amazing and in a place like this you really get to see the amazing things it can do!

Great pictures! Brings back memories. I've been there and it's amazing. A must go when you're near Vegas.

Thank you! And absolutely, so well worth it!

You have captured some incredibly beautiful images of the place 😍

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed!

Hi Sean, this place looks amazing. The contrasts between the blue sky and the red desert makes for amazing pictures. It also looks quite devoid of tourists. Is this such an unknown spot or do you just know when to go there?

Thank you! And yes, the colors of the Red Rock are amazing! I do usually try to travel during the slow seasons to avoid large crowds, and this was still winter there, and I also go early in the morning before all the Vegas tourists recover from their hangovers :)
