El Jarillo is a small parish in the Guaicaipuro Municipality that has an area of just 45 km², most of its surface is made up of plots for agricultural use. It has a population of about 2,500 inhabitants and most of its economy revolves around agriculture.

In the most central part of this town we can see that the houses are closer together, this can be seen very strongly if we look around the Church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, the only Catholic temple in the entire town. And if we look at the areas furthest from this part of the town, we will realize that the houses are more separated from each other, with more area dedicated to agriculture.

We have visited this town several times and we have witnessed the changes that have been arising there; because apart from the traditional agricultural activities (peach, blackberry, strawberry, potato and tomato), avant-garde crops such as Gherkin and Cherry Tomato have also been introduced.
