I made a trip of 47 km to know one of the many tourist sites that Venezuela has or had, this time I went to the "Mirador Teobaldo Mieres", for this adventure I was accompanied by a very dear friend who already knew the way, despite starting the day with some rain the trip was fun.
The fun is in the journey more than in the destination.

Hice un viaje de 47 km para conocer uno de los muchos sitios turísticos que tiene o tenía Venezuela, en esta oportunidad fui al "Mirador Teobaldo Mieres", para esta aventura me acompaño una muy apreciada amiga la cual ya conocía el camino, a pesar de iniciar el día con algo de lluvia el viaje fue muy divertido.
La diversión está en el viaje más que en el destino.
A nearby destination
My destination is not very far from where we left, it was necessary to take 3 buses to get there and the fare was approximately 2 dollars, with the return ticket it was a total of 4 dollars.
We started our trip at 5:30 am and to our surprise the day started with a soft rain, at this point is when you doubt and think if it is better to postpone the trip for another day, even so we decided to continue and hope for the best.
Mi destino no queda muy distante de donde partimos, fueron necesario tomar 3 autobuses para llegar y en pasaje fue un aproximado de 2 dólares, con el pasaje de regreso fueron un total de 4 dólares.
Iniciamos nuestro viaje a las 5:30 am y para sorpresa el día inicio con una suave lluvia, en este punto es cuando dudas y piensas si es mejor posponer el viaje para otro día, aun así decidimos seguir y esperar lo mejor.
Finally, we arrived in the city of San Juan de los Morros at about 8:30 am, located in the state of Guárico, Venezuela.
At our first stop we are greeted by a statue of Dr. Jose Gregorio Hernandez, the most famous doctor who existed in Venezuela "maybe in the future we will do a post about him".
Finalmente, llegamos la ciudad de san juan de los morros a eso de las 8:30 am, ubicada en el estado Guárico Venezuela.
En nuestra primera parada nos recibe una estatua del doctor José Gregorio Hernandez, El doctor más famoso que existió en Venezuela "tal vez en un futuro hagamos un post sobre él".
It was time to start climbing the road, it looks in very good condition and is not very far from the main stop, at this point my friend recommended me not to continue taking pictures, as the area is not very safe, it is the first time I go so it will be better to heed her advice.
Anyway I was able to take a couple more pictures and we didn't have any kind of problems.
Era momento de empezar a subir el camino, se ve en muy buen estado y no está muy lejos de la parada principal, en este punto mi amiga me recomiendo no seguir tomando fotos, pues la zona no es muy segura, es primera vez que voy así que será mejor hacer caso a sus consejos.
De igual forma pude tomar un par de fotos más y no tuvimos ninguna clase de inconvenientes.
The weather was cloudy with a pleasant temperature.
El clima estaba nublado y con una agradable temperatura.
We arrived at a monument in honor of Mother Candelaria, doing some research I learned that the name of the place is due to Teobaldo Mieres born in 1894, I would have liked to talk to a local to tell me more about the history of this place. But I think that due to the weather at the time we did not see anyone near the area.
Llegamos a un monumento en honor a la Madre Candelaria, investigando un poco aprendí que el nombre del lugar se debe a Teobaldo Mieres nacido en 1894, me fuera gustado hablar con algún local para que me contara mejor la historia de este lugar. Pero creo que por el clima del momento no vimos a nadie cerca de la zona.
I'm not one to make things up, so I'll be very frank, the place is clean in some areas, but others require a lot of maintenance.
The entrance to the "giant statue" lookout was really scary, my friend did not dare to go in with me, besides she told me that in this place people died in the past "I think she said it just to scare me".
True or not, I owe it to my readers so I gather the courage to go in, several funny things happen here.
First of all the place is really dirty, people use it as a bathroom WTF.
The stairs have a style that reminds me of catholic churches, I'm sure this place had better days, at all times you have the strange feeling that someone is watching you. So I climb up in a very fast way.
I even took a couple of pictures with a lot of panic hehe which came out lousy even though I want to climb them.
No soy de maquillar las cosas, así que seré muy franco, el lugar en algunas zonas está limpio, pero otras requieren muchísimo mantenimiento.
La entrada al mirador "estatua gigante" realmente daba miedo, mi amiga no se animó a entrar conmigo, aparte de ello me cuenta que en este lugar murieron personas en el pasado "creo que lo dijo solo para asustarme".
Cierto o no, yo me debo a mis lectores por lo que reúno coraje para entrar, aquí pasan varias cosas cómicas.
La primera el lugar está realmente sucio, las personas lo usan como baño WTF.
Las escaleras tienen un estilo que me recuerda a las iglesias católicas, estoy seguro de que este lugar tuvo días mejores, en todo momento tienes la extraña sensación de que alguien te está mirando. Por lo que subo de forma muy rápida.
Incluso tomé un par de fotos con mucho pánico jeje las cuales salieron pésimas aun así quiero subirlas
Moment of panic when I hear strange sounds, if you see the photos without context it gives the impression that I am under paranormal attack haha.

When I finished climbing I found a spiral staircase and a very dark place, the only source of light comes from the eyes of the statue, it was a little scary and the feeling of loneliness was overwhelming, anyway I did not want to miss the opportunity to take a look from the eyes of the monument.
Al terminar de subir encontré una escalera de caracol y un lugar muy oscuro, la única fuente de luz viene de los ojos de la estatua, daba algo de miedo y la sensación de soledad era abrumadora, de igual forma no quise perder la oportunidad de echar un vistazo desde los ojos del monumento.
The view is incredible, it's the reward for climbing up here.

I think this was one of the best photos, The light that enters through the eyes breaks the darkness of the place, it is very strange, because you feel that you are accompanied and at the same time you know you are alone.

In one of the nearby wooden-roofed structures I found a hive of bees. This was as close as I could take the photo without disturbing them.

We were able to get close to the pine trees, but not quite, as they are out of the way.
And it is here when the rain comes back, we had to put our cell phones away to protect them from the rain and start to descend quickly but safely.
It was time to return home with this pleasant memory of the trip.

In conclusion, I think it is a good place to visit and get to know, although it requires a little more maintenance by the competent authorities.
I am sure there are many curiosities about this place that are worth investigating.
Oh and when I got home of course I brought some grass for my guinea pigs, they were very happy for the gift.
