I scrolled up & down the statue of Christopher Columbus only to get a glimpse, hehehe. Hmm... that came from Italy... naturally... NYC is known for its Italian immigrants.
Both your grandparents married in St. Paul the Apostle? Your roots are in NYC!!! Yeah, itis a good tradition to light a candle in every church you visit. Now, who or what does the statue represent? Strange to see that in Church.
