Sublime Sunday and Enjoying Food

in Worldmappin4 months ago

I find it difficult to eat rice from a plate using chopsticks.

Using chopsticks to eat rice from a plate can indeed be a bit tricky. Even with a lot of practice, I never get the hang of it!

Except in Dim Sum restaurants, I almost always have to ask for a rice bowl in Chinese restaurants (but not in Japanese restaurants!) because they don't give you one!

Using a bowl can make it much easier to eat rice with chopsticks.

The bowl allows you to bring the food closer to your mouth and gives you better control over the rice. It also makes it easier to scoop up a small clump of rice with your chopsticks. This traditional method is especially common in East Asian cultures.

That looks awesome! Braised Beef Brisket with rice looks really good! I have no problem with chopsticks, I learned young I guess. What a great restaurant, there is a similar one close to my house here. Now I'm craving some too! lol

The food looks so tempting, it's making my mouth water. I think you should definitely try eating it with your hands – it's often the best way to fully appreciate the flavors and textures. Plus, it's so much easier and more relaxed than using utensils, especially when you're enjoying a casual meal. Don't worry about what other people think; just focus on savoring the deliciousness! It's your meal, enjoy it your way.

Sometimes, eating with your hands really lets you appreciate all the flavors and textures. It's definitely a more relaxed and enjoyable way to dig in. Don't worry about what others think – it's your meal, so enjoy it your way! 😋🍽️ I could eat the fish with my fingers, but the rice plate...

The food looks delicious! It makes me hungry. I've never been to a restaurant that uses chopsticks before, but I feel your struggle because I used to practice using them. I was amazed when my sibling used them. It's a good thing that there are restaurants that offer food in a bowl, it makes eating easier and more enjoyable.

P.s. I think I accidentally pressed something, but I don't know what.

The food was amazing! I totally get the struggle with chopsticks – it's definitely a skill that takes practice. It's always great to see restaurants offering options that make eating easier and more enjoyable. Your sibling sounds like a chopstick pro! 😄
And don't worry about pressing something accidentally; we've all been there. 🍜

Of course, there are Asian restaurants here too. But most of the time the server will ask you what type of cutlery you want to use. We usually try chopsticks, but after a while we ask for a fork and a knife. When I try to eat with chopsticks, I have to focus on the technique of eating the food and not the food itself.

Totally get that, @trautenberk ! Using chopsticks can be a bit tricky, especially when you just want to enjoy your meal without thinking too much about how you're eating. It's great that you give it a try, though! At the end of the day, as long as you get to savor the delicious food, that's what counts. 😊 Enjoy your meals, whether it's with chopsticks or a fork and knife! 🥢🍴

The food definitely looks delicious! Any idea what kind of fish they used for the salt and pepper fish filets? It's small enough it almost looks like perch, but I guess they could have cut anything up to make it that size.

It does look delicious, doesn't it? For salt and pepper fish filets, common choices include cod, haddock, hake, pollock, basa, catfish, and halibut. These white fish are mild in flavor and hold up well when fried, @bozz. It's possible they used one of these, or even something similar in size like perch.

That makes sense. I like that it seems to be a lighter batter and not the heavy beer batter that you often get with fish like that.

That's make me hungry 🤤
