Today in this post I want to tell you about my visit, which I made to the Bufalini castle, which is located in the small town of San Giustino, in the province of Perugia.
The castle, as the name implies, belonged for several years to the Bufalini family, a very important family in these areas, but then in 1988 it was sold and is now owned by the Italian state.
Let's start by saying that the castle is not always open but is open from Friday to Sunday and on the occasion of special holidays with an entrance ticket that costs € 4 while the entrance is free for European citizens under 18.
At the entrance I also said that you can only visit the park around the Castle with the ticket of practically € 2.
I tell you right away that from my point of view the entrance to the castle is really given as a gift because it is truly a beautiful manor kept in an excellent way.
At the beginning the Bufalini castle was born as a military fortress in 1440, practically an outpost in defense of the Città di Castello, only later it was bought by Niccolò Di Manno Bufalini who practically began the reconstruction of this place, which unfortunately had been destroyed at the end of the fifteenth century.
And practically this castle was transformed to give a place of defense to the home of this prestigious Umbrian family.
In fact, you can very well see from the photos the transformation into a historic home of this place which was then frequented for a long time by important literaries of the time and artists of the time.
It was in the end, a hereditary will that ceded the whole structure to the Italian State and lately as you have been able to see from the photos, it has been restored in many parts thanks to numerous fundraisers, including the most important Art bonus, which has given the possibility of making many interventions within this structure.
Unfortunately I still noticed some ruined parts and in fact there would still be a lot of things to do but unfortunately, as usual, the state does not invest a lot of money in this.
Fortunately, in Italy there are many volunteers who always try to enhance these places. In fact it was thanks to a friend of mine who has this association that in this area tries to enhance and make people discover these places.
That's why I also wanted to create this post to make this place known even to those who may have never come to Italy or are you going to see us later.
I thank you for the support you always give me in the posts that I am very pleased with and thank you for reading this post to the end

This castle is a work of art! It's so beautiful! Inside is also so beautiful!
If the state does not invest money in repairing the ruined items, how is it going to be repaired? From the money of the volunteers?
Yes exactly There are associations in Italy that deal with the enhancement of these assets and then there are also private individuals who put the money
Oooh, it's nice to see people care about this 😌
Hermoso lugar y hermosas fotos! Fuí a Italia pero no había escuchado sobre este lugar. Gracias por compartir!
