I was taken back in time to the era of ancient India as soon as I entered the fort.

Inside the fort's boundaries are a number of buildings, including temples, palaces, and courtyards.
The Maharaja Sansar Chand Katoch Palace is the most spectacular of all.
The palace, which has elaborate carvings and lovely murals covering its walls, is an exquisite example of traditional Indian architecture.
I couldn't help but be in awe of the skill and craftsmanship used to build the palace as I was touring it.
The palace has a number of rooms, each with a distinct layout and function. The Maharaja held significant events and meetings at the Darbar Hall, which is the most spectacular of all.
In addition to the palace, the fort also has a number of shrines. The most well-known of these is the temple to the Hindu goddess Ambika called the Ambika Devi Temple.
The temple is a stunning building with detailed sculptures and carvings covering its walls. The temple is still in operation today, and pilgrims from all across the area frequent it.
I couldn't help but be in awe of the history and culture that the fort represented as I made my way through it.
The fort has been in place for more than a thousand years, and throughout that time it has seen several emperors and kingdoms come and go.
It is evidence of the region's residents' tenacity and fortitude.
Everyone with an interest in history and culture should go to Kangra Fort. It is a magnificent building that has withstood the test of time and provides a window into India's rich cultural legacy.
