Share Our World: Hidden Falls and Inspiration point Hikes

in Pinmapple3 years ago (edited)

Today I get to share a couple a great hike in the Tetons--Hidden Falls and Inspiration Point

We met at the Jenny Lake Vistor's center and then walked to the boat dock along Discovery Trail.

This was the line hours before. When we went it was really long.

Shuttle

It is a 12 minute shuttle ride to the trailhead on the other side of the lake. (1)
The boat is a shuttle from close to the visitor's center to the Cascade Canyon Trailhead.

It cost $18 round trip and saves a 2 mile hike each way. (2)

It is also fun to be on the lake and see the mountains from the lake.

Hidden Falls Hike

This hike 9/10.

There were so many people that we took a few pictures and start toward Inspiration Point.(3)

Inspiration Point Hike

This hike 9/10.

Here we go on towards Inspiration Point

I love these rocky mountains!

Megan and I stopped here. I actually liked this place more than Inspiration Point, not so many people and the view is better. Megan told me how she wants to live where this is the view in her backyard. Me too!!

Love this girl.

This part scared me a little bit.

The highest point in the Tetons is the Grand Teton and it is 13,770. We are about half way up at this point. Some in the group chose to go to Cascade Canyon. Some of us went a little further.

Megan and I went a little further to a spring.

Heading back down the mountain

The longest part of the the trip was the line to get back on the boat to shuttle back to the visitors center. It took about an hour.

The park service is nice and let you know how long the wait is going to be.

Getting closer

We made new friends, both people and animals.

What great hikes at Jenny Lake. I had done Hidden Falls when I was in the Tetons in 2014. I am glad I got to go again and that we went to Inspiration Point too. They are super popular hikes in the Tetons and for good reason!

What a beautiful mountain tour. The view from the lake looks extraordinary, I am sure it was worth the wait for this excursion at the entrance. Ow, those rocky mountains and snow on some peaks are great! Also, the squirrel was cute :)
This was an awesome hike of yours and our pleasure to read!

Thanks so much, it is fun to share and know others are enjoying it.

great to see your hike from the beginning to the end! And what a view:)

Hi @katrin-lux. Thanks so much I loved it. Not many people go to Wyoming if they are traveling in the US, It has some really beautiful places, like the Tetons!

I like to see the lake and also the forest there. it looks amazing. I saw a lot of visitors there. Looks like this place is famous

hi @heartofdarkness it is very famous. The Tetons are a national park in Wyoming and this is the most popular hike in the park.

Wow, that's awesome. Are weekdays there also crowded with visitors?

I think with millions of visitors it is always crowded.

wow. it was incredible

That hike looks amazing - other than the amount of people. Still awesome though. I also wish that my backyard had a view like that.

yes, I am glad I had the early morning hike/walk virtually to myself before we joined the crowds for this hike. But hey it is great that so many people get to enjoy nature and that view.
