Hey Hive!

So if you missed the last couple of posts, we're currently on another journey to Japan after we finished our final semester of college back in January 2019! And it was coincidentally around Valentines' Day too! We initially talked about wanting to visit South Korea but a Delta Airlines deal kinda changed our plans so.. to Tokyo once again!

But this time we were staying somewhat outside Tokyo in an area called Omorimachi. And last week, we completed our journey through a very special building in Yokohama - the Cup Noodle Museum!

It was a truly unique experience; where we got to customise our own cup noodles and we traversed the history of cup noodles; exploring its inception and global outreach! Omg it sounds like I'm writing a report but it was really fun and I highly recommend visiting there!

18 February 2019. Monday.

Anyway, there was still some time left in the day and after we finished exploring the museum, we went back to the theme park we saw on the way!

I learned that it's actually called Cosmo World! And it's main attraction is of course the Ferris Wheel which is called the Cosmo Clock 21! Apparently this was a free to enter theme park and they had a ton of different rides available for both kids and adults!

This was the ticket counter. So this was similar to another theme park we went to in Finland called Linnanmäki, where you basically enter for free and only pay for the rides you want to go on!

There are however discount books of tickets that you can buy if you plan to try a lot of rides. For example you can buy a 5,000 yen discount ticket book for just 4,000 yen! That's more convenient if you're going on a bunch of rides. Here's a closer look at the pricing for the rides.

This was the directory of the entire park! There are basically 3 distinct sections of the park - the Burano Street zone, the Kids Carnival zone and the Wonder Amuse zone, which is basically where all the big rides are.

We took a walk along the Burano Street zone and saw a bunch of the carnival games! I don't think they were operating though.? Anyway most carnival games like these are pretty much scams so we weren't gonna play them.

There was also this 4D ride that I guess was one of those indoor VR-type rides or something. We've been on a similar ride in Taiwan and got to "fly" above the city and "dive" in the ocean so I think this is similar.

It was late afternoon by the time we came here and I think the park was going to close in a couple hours though so we didn't have much time to explore and go on the rides. So we decided to just go on the most thrilling ride which was called Diving Coaster!

Basically it's super steep and vanishes behind the Ferris Wheel beneath a pool in a gigantic splash!

It was actually pretty fun! Quite the thrill ride, not as bad as the one in Fuji Q Highland of course, but heart-stopping all the same! And it was definitely interesting going down into the pool, sorta! You come out the other end on top and then it's the end of the ride!

After that we went to check out the arcade they had!

It seemed like another retro arcade especially with this super old DDR machine!

It reminded me of another retro arcade we went to in Odaiba! But maybe just a little more modern? There were a bunch of different crane machines too!

There was also a food court called Cosmo Court! It looked like they had all the regular carnival snacks there. We didn't try any though since we were still pretty shaken from the roller coaster.

After that we kinda left the theme park and enjoyed a nice stroll.

Here's the Landmark Tower again! It is the second tallest building and 4th tallest structure in Japan, standing 296.3 m high! The building itself contains a five-star hotel which occupies floors 49–70, with 603 rooms in total. The lower 48 floors contain shops, restaurants, clinics, and offices.

The sun was setting and we got to enjoy a nice view of the river!

We got curious about the Landmark Tower so we went to check it out and the base of the tower actually looked so cool! It looked like a colosseum of sorts!

The lighting wasn't so good but this was us with the tower!

We didn't go inside the actual tower though since it was just mostly a fancy hotel with a mall.

Sean's family makes it a point to always visit a Hard Rock Cafe and since we found this one by accident we had to grab a quick pic.

After that we didn't really know where to go, but we ended up taking the train to Kawasaki!

We've never been here before so we figured we might as well visit and see if we could find some nice dinner here too!

It felt like a less crowded Shibuya tbh, with a lot of boutiques and shops on the street.

There was also a shotengai too!

But tbh none of the shops and restaurants were really grabbing our attention so we ended up just eating MOS Burger! We shared a rice burger meal with some chicken cutlets and onion rings! It was pretty yummy!

But I was still hungry after that and we actually found a Sushi Zanmai not too far away! And it made me crave sushi immediately, so we went in and got our usual.

We had some anago sushi (freshwater eel) and I tried a new sushi that I unfortunately don't remember. But I didn't really like it either way.

And of course I got my usual salmon nigiri! It was sooo yummy and smooth!

Salmon is legitimately my favourite sushi, and it's one of the cheapest you can get in Sushi Zanmai too! And their fish is of course the freshest so it's not fishy at all.

But that's it for today! After that we got really tired after such delicious food and went back to our apartment to retire for the day.

Tune in next week where we visit an actual Mega Donki Hote!

Thanks so much for reading!
