The Honeymoon Nobody Knew About (Until Now...)

The original title:

The Honeymoon Nobody Knew About (Because Why Should They? 😂)

After getting married, we were bombarded with the so-called follow-up questions...
"Where will you spend your honeymoon?"
"How many kids? Are you gonna have them right away?"
"Where will you live?"
"Are you gonna buy a house?"
"Do you want boys or girls?"

Trust me, it's not uncommon to get these questions from time to time and I simply smiled and nodded. Because you know what? It's none of their business.

Still, I was new to it. And it got a bit annoying even though it's totally normal. I think it was probably why we kinda went off the grid to have a relaxing honeymoon. We didn't tell anyone about it, except for our parents.

But just like the "baby" question, the honeymoon part is none of anyone else's business. It's not like they're joining us (but, actually, one of my aunts wanted to join the trip. Say what now? 🤦‍♂️ LOL, Of course, I turned her down)

So it took me almost a year to share a little bit of our honeymoon. And that's what I'm about to do now. If you look at all the extravagant escapades that most newly married couples have for their honeymoon, ours was far from that.

Ours was simple. Intimate. It was just about US.

We stayed at Jpark Island Resort & Waterpark for a night. Considering that it was one of the 5-star hotels here in Cebu, we were in for a treat! We thought ourselves that "why not spend at least one night in our lives in a luxurious hotel?"

The cost per night is almost Php 6,000 but we were lucky enough to avail of the promo. Talk about the ideal wedding present from the universe! We were able to get the suite room for only Php 5500. We booked for a regular room but their promo says that we can upgrade the room for the same price.

It was such a sweet "suite" room! pun intended. They have this mini sala set, kitchen area with a dividing countertop similar to minibars.

There is a separate door leading to the bedroom and it has the softest, comfiest sheets ever! The bathroom had many partitions. This means there's a door for the bathtub and shower, a closed door for the toilet, and another door for the closet that also connects back to the kitchen area. And did I mention that there are two bathrooms? I had to make my mark on both if you know what I mean.

It was just like any normal hotel stay. We ate some lunch buffet, strolled around, took some pictures, and chilled by the pool.

There was a kiddie park indoors and outdoors but neither was open at that time (June 2021). They had karts for rent but we didn't bother to ask since we clearly can't fit 😅

Jpark Island Resort & Waterpark also has the coolest human-sized chessboard and pieces! You can literally hug the queen and king!

We were so amused with these giant chess pieces and tried having one game but soon gave up after the 5th move because we got too tired carrying them around 😂

They weren't called a waterpark for nothing! This was their kiddie waterpark but when we got to the big slides, I couldn't help but feel pretty excited!

At night, we had a bit of night swimming until they had this amazing fire dance by the pool and a live band at the Havana.

Nights were simply peaceful and beautiful there...

By morning, we were ready for the best meal of the day -- an international breakfast buffet! We made sure to visit every table and grab at least one piece of food in each. Still, we were both suckers for waffles! 🤤

We spent the rest of the day strolling around the resort in broad, sunny daylight.

Adios, Jpark! 'Til the next time! (I hope 🤞)

If you look at it, there was nothing above average from what we did on our honeymoon. But what was really important is that we were finally together. We can finally spend A LOT of time with each other...and we certainly have a lifetime to go!

That honeymoon marked the first of the many adventures we had and we're looking forward to a lot more to come! 💚

Sort:

Yesss JPark Island the best💙💙 especially their foods and Abalone💖

I couldn't agree more! Love their buffet! 🤤😁
