Hello everyone!
After a longer break during which I haven’t published anything, I’d like to stick a few pins in the #worldmappin — and the first one is the village of Stoos and the Stoosbahn.
Since I’m temporarily staying in Switzerland, which is a very beautiful country, I try to go on trips, hikes, and other outings during some of my free days. I love nature and mountains — and in that regard, Switzerland is truly a promised land ;)

Dlouho jsem nic nepublikoval, ale podzim a začátek zimy trávím pracovně ve Švýcarsku a tak bych rád zapíchl pár špendílků do #worldmappin a prvním z nich bude vesnice Stoos a Stoosbahn.Pro mě jako, milovníka přírody a hor je Švýcarsko zemí zaslíbenou, tak se vám pokusím zdejší scenérie přiblížit alespoň pomocí fotek.
We stay in the cabin at altitude 830 m above sea level near the Schwyz, lovely small town that gave Switzerland its name. One of my early trips here was to Stoos while using funicular railway. The Stoos village is situated at 1300 m above sea level and the population is around 100 inhabitants. The place is small ski resort with some chairlifts and cable car to Fronalpstock (1921 m).
Pobýváme v chatě v nadmořské výšce 830 m poblíž města Schwyz, malebné městečko, které dalo Švýcarsku jméno. Jeden z prvních výletů, který jsem absolvoval byl na Stoos za využití (pozemní) lanovky Stoosbahn. Vesnice Stoos leží ve výšce asi 1300 m a údajně zde žije asi 100 obyvatel. Stoos je také malým ski resortem s několika vleky a lanovkami a také lanovkou na Fronalpstock (1921 m).
The Stoosbahn Talstation is about 5,5 km away from our cabin. To reach it, I had to go downhill, then uphill and then downhill again ;) There are few pics from the first part of the trip:
Dolní stanice lanovky je od naší chaty vzdálena asi 5,5 km a abych se k ní dostal, musel jsem jít z kopce, poté do kopce a potom opět z kopce ;) Pár fotek z cesty k lanovce:
The first funicular started in 1933 here. The new one runs from 2017 and it is nice technical solution for my point of view. The carriages are barrel-shaped and rotate to maintain a level floor surface for passengers. The funicalr is the steepest funicular in Switzerland and Europe wit max gradient 110% (47.7° angle). So take a look at the cabins:
První lanová dráha tu jezdila od roku 1933. Nová je v provozu od roku 2017 a musím říct, že pro mě je to technická libůstka. Kabiny jsou ve tvaru sudu a rotují tak, aby udržely podlahu v rovině. Dráha drží rekord, v nejprudším místě překovává stoupání 110% (47.7%). Tak se podívejme na kabiny:
The funicular only needs 4 minutes to move you 744 m up or down. You feel like using an elevator ;)
And finaly you are in the 1300 m level and you can enjoy the views. OK, only if you will go there on better weather conditions than me ;) But I enjoyed it as it was!
Lanovka vás za 4 minuty dopraví o 744 metrů výš nebo níž. Místy máte pocit, že jedete ve výtahu ;)
A konečně jste ve výšce 1300 m a můžete se kochat výhledy. Dobrá, jen pokud máte větší štěstí na počasí než já. Ale užil jsem si to i tak!
I made some walkaround, enjoyed the "views" and had to take the next cabin down, because I had to finish 5,5 km and 400 m of elevation again to come back to cabin. The clouds moved, so few pics from the way back:
Prošel jsem se po a kolem Stoosu, užil si "výhledy" a musel jsem stihnout další odjezd lanovky dolů, protože mě opět čekalo 5,5 km a tentokrát asi 400 m převýšení. Mraky se pohnuly, tak ještě pár fotek ze zpáteční cesty:

Wow that's cool! Switzerland is always a dream destination of every individual.. because of the charm and the majestic views of the different destinations in this place.

Switzerland is the dream. It is the first in my list to travel soon. Looking at your photos drived me more to be successful in life to visit this place. I mean, look at that landscape amd perfect lush greenery field. Look at that warm sun hitting cabins and roofs. The clean looking sorrounding and the fog hitting your face. Nothing looks more magical than Switzerland's mountain and forest. Thank you for taking us with you on your trip and giving us a glimpse of Switzerland's beauty. Perfect and magnificent land.
I've visited Switzerland many times when I was a child, my grandparents loved Switzerland and it's true it's really an heavenly land ❤️❤️
Yes, the great country. I had only few speaks with people, but everyone I talked to was very nice.
Looks like a great spot for time lapse photography , just the ride to get there is a bit to long :)
