A Night Excursion To Sherman falls

in Worldmappinlast month

Sherman Falls is a 55 foot tall ribbon waterfall, that has a terrace in the middle. It is named after the Sherman family who used to own the land that it is owned on and it still sits on privately owned land in Ancaster Ontario. Thankfully the owners still allow public access and I have visited the falls many times.

For this excursion, I decided to go at night for long exposure photos. The entrance of the trail is on an intersection, where the paved road. Turns into a dirt road and starts to be surround by a large forest. With the entrance lit by a street light and a pitch black forest behind it, I began to walk the heavily used trail.

Thankfully it is a short walk and you reach the waterfall in under 10 minutes. These photos give a deceptive view of what I was seeing, it was total darkness. All of these photos are 3-5 minute long exposures with a panel light on.

This waterfall truly is beautiful anytime of the day or night, and in every season! I would highly recommend stopping by it, if you find yourself in the area!
