Hi dear Hive community,
After discovering Pokhara we headed forward to the next destination, Lumbini, most famous as a birth place of Buddha. As we wanted to see the nature and meet more interesting people, we decided to walk the long path and try with hitchhiking. We must say that here people quickly offer you a ride. The people we met were all very friendly and with some we even stopped for a tea or even lunch. After two rides it was already dark outside, so we decided to stay overnight and put our tent next to the river.
We continued early in the morning and reached to Steffen’s friend living in Bhairawat, near Lumbini. There, we were welcomed by his lovely family with chai and a lot of food. They were very nice and we spent amazing four days together. As we enjoyed cooking very much, we were happy to learn many new recipes that we will definitely try out.
After a few day of staying around the city of Baihrawat making new friends and celebrating the festival with dancing, we decided to go to visit the birthplace of lord Buddha. It was already quite late and as the sun goes down here super fast we needed to hurry.
Together with Bashant, Little Arun and Deepak, we headed to the ancient site. Here we needed to take another permit as Nepal is full of those. After paying 1000 rupees for each, we were ready to go.
We learned that here many countries have their own temple and many more were under construction. We visited the Singapore temple and after we went to the German temple. We enjoyed very much the paintings on the walls of the massive buildings. The people here were all friendly and many wanted to take a picture with us.
As we realized that the sun was going down, Steffen said we should quickly visit the main sight. On the way there we observed many other buildings that were waiting to be visited.
We needed to cross a checking post where they checked our tickets and we finally were in the area of the birthplace of lord Buddha. A new looking building was built around the ancient site and we were not allowed to take any pictures here. Many people were standing in line to see and touch the rock where Buddha was put as a baby.
We learned that Buddha was born into a kings family and that the astrologers predict he rather becomes a king or a saint. As we know now, he turned into a saint. But his father was trying many times to distract the young Buddha with alcohol and beautiful woman.
Once we left the building, we headed to the other side. There we found very old and beautiful trees where many Buddhists were chanting mantras. It was wonderful experience and we enjoyed the sunset listening to the sounds of the mantras.
Before going home Bashant wanted to show us a place where he went many times for meditation. It was close to the Thailand temple where we took a tea but as lots of mosquitoes were around, so we tried to leave as soon as possible.
We stayed some more day here in Baihrawat, before we started traveling to the birthplace of the king how united Nepal.

Awe! Nepal is so beautiful!! I love it! I’ve never been there but your pictures are amazing! It’s a place with great energy!
Yes, it's very nice and interesting country which offers much more than just trekking the Himalayas.
Thank you so much! 🙏 Wish you a good day! 🌞
It's amazing here! Inside Lumbini you can stay however long you want (you pay more fee for longer periods), you can put tent and easily sleep there or in some nice temple fascilities. Despite many tourist I think the place is big enough to find a calm spot for yourselef. Maybe some noise might come from working on the new big temples or the road which is currently very bad.
Definitely worth to visit, it's a place with nice energy 💫
Wish you a nice rest of the day! 🙂🙏
