Portugal Day 💂‍♀

in Pinmapple6 months ago

One of the most important days for the Portuguese and also a public holiday is June 10th.
The day honors Portuguese-speaking culture and Portugal's presence in the world. Initially it started as a local holiday only in the Lisbon region, but the state of Novo elevated it to a national holiday. Today, June 10th is known as “Camões Day” or Portugal Day.”

This year the official location of its celebrations was the enigmatic site of Peso da Régua, or simply Régua as tourists know it with the aim of saying that “the interior of Portugal is not forgotten”.
The region belongs to the Alto Douro region, a tourist attraction for those visiting Porto, as going up to the Douro River is mandatory for tourists who live there, as it is on most of the itineraries of those visiting Porto.
The views over the river are incredible, you can see in great detail mountains of vineyards where Port wine is produced, which is exported all over the world. I believe you know exactly what I'm talking about
Port wine

It is possible to have an overview of the small city of Régua and also its bridge.
City that is dedicated above all to its tourist activities and the good wine that we all know

calm city with little movement considering the city of Porto, it is still possible to see the houses quite far from each other on the slopes and some mixed varieties that give a rural but interesting look at the same time

However, after this brief description, the objective of this day is a brief celebration of Portugal, and nothing better describes a small military exhibition where they show their equipment and bring people closer to our resources available in combat, remembering that in Portugal the troops do not is mandatory and is therefore accompanied by a brief marketing campaign to attract people to carry out this activity, also showing the different areas and the training offer including attending university or studying there until the 12th year

Starting with those night vision goggles, I'm not at all a pro at describing military material (I didn't join the troops).

In the demonstration there were various types of equipment from weapons to cars and even some clarifications or even brief information about any doubts you might have, making it a great place to visit even if temporary.

There are times when there is some equipment that we can simply buy in a normal store, like this DJI drone that is used to visualize terrain, widely used here in fire detection and location mapping missions.

all set up on small stands so that we could examine or even pick up, for example these small weapons that were tied with handles so that no one could take them, but that allowed us to feel touch and even experience them, this is of course without shooting :)

Thank you very much for reading, I hope to see you in the next post .
