Dear friends of the Hive community,
Hello! I recently came over from Steemit. I encountered too many issues over there, and it didn’t feel like the right platform for me as a traveler to share my journey.
Here is the place I am currently traveling:
Cuba is the poorest country I have ever visited, and the wealth gap here is truly staggering. One evening in Havana, I went to ARRECIFE for a Western-style dinner, and the translation app worked quite well. Four people spent 46,000 Cuban pesos on the meal. The local monthly salary is only $20, which means one meal cost the equivalent of two months' wages for a local. Restaurants here also charge a 10% service fee, and the official exchange rate is nearly ten times different from the local exchange rate.
The place looks absolutely amazing, looks like a great place to sit with friends ❤️
Thank you @thoughthive for sharing your experience. Hopefully the situation in the country will be better as time goes by.
