During the week, we made arrangements with my sister, brother-in-law, nephews and mother to go fishing and picnic on Saturday. Actually, I was hesitant at first, when my father's job came out at the last moment, I went too.

Hafta içinde, cumartesi günü balık tutmak ve piknik yapmak üzere kız kardeşim, eniştem, yeğenlerim ve annem ile sözleştik. Aslında ilk başta ben kararsızdım, babamın son anda işi çıkınca ben de gittim.

Yolda her an hayvanlar da karşınıza çıkabilir. Yöre halkı geçimini tarım ve hayvancılıktan sağlıyor. Önceleri herkes hayvancılık yaparken şimdiler bu oran çok düşük durumda. Hem hayvanlara bakacak genç kesim köyde yaşamak istemiyor hem de hayvancılık ciddi emek ve mesai gerektiren bir uğraş.
My brother-in-law has dominated the region since childhood. Someone who knows very well where we can catch fish and where there will be a fountain. He said that there may not be fish in the creek because of the drought this year, so we should bring chicken meat with us to cook it. Apart from chicken meat, we brought cold drinks, watermelon, vegetables, bread, etc. with us.
Eniştem, çocukluğundan beri yöreye hakim. Nerede balık yakalayabileceğimizi, nerde çeşme olacağını gayet iyi bilen biri. Bu yıl kuraklık olduğu için derede balık olmayabileceğini, bu yüzden pişirmek için yanımızda tavuk eti götürmemiz gerektiğini söyledi. Tavuk eti dışında soğuk içecek, karpuz, sebze,ekmek vb şeyleri yanımızda getirdik.
The spring water was quite cold, icy. There was a mountain blackberry right next to the fountain. Naturally grown blackberries are accompanied by water. Blackberries love wetlands.
*Kaynak suyu oldukça soğuk, buz gibiydi. Çeşmenin hemen yanında dağ böğürtleni vardı. Doğal olarak yetişen böğürtlenin yanında mutlaka su bulunur. Böğürtlen sulak alanları sever.
We brought 5 kg of torch with us for fishing. It is possible to fish in the creek in two ways. The healthiest thing is to throw a tor into the stream and catch the fish. Once a fish is caught in the net, it cannot escape. Another method is to hide under the rocks and catch the fish by hand. Since the fish slips from hand to hand, it is more possible to catch after having socks. There are those who hunt with unconscious methods. There are those who detonate dynamite and give electricity to the water with a generator and consume fish and fish water.
Balık tutmak için yanımızda 5 kg ağırlığında tor getirdik. Derede iki yöntemle balık tutmak mümkün. En sağlıklı olanı dereye toru fırlatıp balığı yakalamak. Balık ağa takılınca bir daha kaçamıyor. Bir diğer yöntem ise kayaların altında saklanın balığı el ile yakalamak. Balık elden kaydığı için ele çorap geçirdikten sonra yakalamak daha mümkün. Bilinçsiz yöntemlerle avlananlar var. Dinamit patlatarak ve jenaratör ile suya elektrik enerjisi verip balık ve balıkların suyunu tüketenler var.
I did not keep my phone with me because of the fear that I would drop my phone into the water while catching fish. As a matter of fact, I don't have the footage of the fish catching. We caught about three kilos of fish in about two hours. While my brother-in-law was catching fish with tor, I was involved in fishing with the fish under the rocks and carrying the fish we caught.
Balık yakalama esnasında telefonumu suya düşürürüm endişesi ile telefonumu yanımda bulundurmadım. Haliyle balık yakalama anındaki görüntülere sahip değilim. Yaklaşık iki saat içerisinde üç kilo civarında balık tuttuk. Eniştem tor ile balık yakalarken ben ise kayaların altındaki balıkları ile il avlamak, avladığımız balıkları taşımak işiyle ilgiliydim.
The fish in the creek are on the verge of extinction due to unconscious hunting. We used to catch more fish in this much time before. We cleaned the inside of the fish at the water's edge. Then we went to the area where my mother and children were.
Bilinçsiz avlanma nedeniyle deredeki balıkların soyu tükenmek üzere. Daha önceleri bu kadar sürede daha fazla balık avlardık. Balıkların içini su kenarında temizledik. Sonrasında annem ve çocukların olduğu alana geçtik.
We cooked the fish in the pan. Fish tastes better on fire, but it is a little more difficult to cook. Adjusting the fire, stirring the pan is a little bit.
Balıkları tavada pişirdik. Ateş üzerinde balık daha lezzetli oluyor ama pişirmesi biraz daha zor. Ateşi ayarlamak, tavayı karıştırmak biraz oluyor.
Next was cooking the chickens. Since we cooked the chickens on the grill, we were more careful to adjust the fire. We burned thick trees, and after the fire turned into embers, we cooked the chickens.

The area we are in was the area where very serious conflicts took place in the 90s, security problems were at a high level, roads were cut and innocent people were killed. Because of the existence of such dangers, fish were not hunted by humans.
Bulunduğumuz alan 90'lı yıllarda çok ciddi çatışmaların yaşandığı, güvenlik problemlerin üst düzeyde olduğu, yolların kesildiği, masum insanların öldürüldüğü alandı. Bu tür tehlikelerin varlığı nedeniyle balıklar insanlar tarafından avlanılmıyordu.
After we ate, we fished for a while. It was around 1 kg. After drinking tea, cutting and eating our watermelon, we returned home.
Yemek yedikten sonra bir süre daha balık avladık. Yaklaşık 1 kg civarında vardı. Çay içip, karpumuzu kesip yedikten sonra eve döndük.
