I was in Şanlıurfa very recently for about two weeks. For someone like me who is used to cool weather, it was quite difficult to be in a place with stifling heat. That's why I spent most of my time where I was. Frankly, I shouldn't have gone too far from where I was. I used the evening hours to explore places and walk. My sister and brother-in-law, who knew that I was in Şanlıurfa, wanted to see me while passing by, and then they told me that they were going to visit Balıklıgöl and asked me to accompany them. This is how my visit to Balıklıgöl started.
Merhaba herkese. Çok kısa bir süre önce Şanlıurfa'da yaklaşık iki hafta boyunca bulundum. Benim gibi serin havalara alışık biri için boğucu sıcaklığa sahip bir yerde bulunmak oldukça zordu. Bu nedenle zamanımın çoğunu bulunduğum yerde geçirdim, doğrusu bulunduğum yerden fazla uzaklaşmamam gerekiyordu. Bir yerleri keşfetmek için , yürümek için akşam saatlerini kullandım. Şanlıurfa'da olduğumu bilen ablam ve eniştem oradan geçerken beni görmek istediler, ardından Balıklıgöl'ü ziyaret edeceklerini, onlara eşlik etmemi istediler. Balıklıgöl ziyaretim bu şekilde başladı.
Şanlıurfa is one of the most historical and interesting cities in Turkey. It has hosted many religions and civilizations. In the past, when Şanlıurfa was mentioned, Balıklıgöl came to my mind, even though I had never seen it. Now, of course, Göbeklitepe, which is called the "zero point of history", is coming. I'm very curious about that place and want to see it as soon as possible. Frankly, after seeing Balıklıgöl, I didn't feel like "I wish I had come before". If you're on your way, visit.
Şanlıurfa , Türkiye'nin en tarihi, en ilginç şehirlerinden biri. Bir çok dine, medeniyete ev sahipliği yapmış. Önceleri Şanlıurfa denilince, hiç görmesemde aklıma Balıklıgöl gelirdi. Şimdilerde tabii ki ''tarihin sıfır noktası'' olarak adlandırılan Göbeklitepe geliyor. Orayı oldukça merak ediyorum ve en yakın zamanda görmek istiyorum. Doğrusu Balıklıgöl'ü gördükten sonra ''keşke daha önce gelseydim'' hissine kapılmadım. Yolunuz üstündeyse ziyaret edin.
What makes Balıklıgöl so popular is that it is believed that Prophet Abraham, who is considered the common ancestor of all divine religions, was thrown into the fire in this lake. Balıklıgöl and its surroundings have different stories in Islamic, Christian and Jewish mythology.
Balıklıgöl'ü bu kadar popüler kılan şey, tüm ilahi dinlerin ortak atası olarak kabul edilen İbrahim Peygamber'in bu gölde ateşe atıldığına inanılmasıdır. Balıklıgöl'ün ve çevresinin İslam, Hristiyan ve Yahudi mitolojisinde farklı farklı hikayeleri bulunmaktadır.
Eating fish belonging to the carp family in the lake is not welcome for Muslims. It is already known that some fish in the lake are poisonous. To see the fish up close, all you have to do is throw fish food into the water, they all rush towards the bait and compete to get the food. While most of the fish are small, some can reach up to 50-60 cm in size.
Müslümanlar için göldeki sazangiller familyasına ait olan balıkların yenilmesi hoş karşılanmamaktadır. Zaten göldeki bazı balıkların zehirli olduğu biliniyor. Balıkları yakından görmek için suya balık yemi atmanız yeterli, hepsi bir anda yeme doğru hücum edip besini elde etmek için yarışıyor. Balıkların çoğu küçükken bazıları 50-60 cm büyüklüğüne kadar ulaşabiliyor.

Since Balıklıgöl is a frequently visited place, the water of the lake can become polluted quickly. The lake water is cleaned during the day. This is one of those moments.

The place where it is believed that Prophet Abraham fell into fire. There is a fountain inside that is said to be healing. I drank the water and it tasted different. Just as I was about to take the picture, someone I didn't know entered the frame and I shot her too.
