In this blog, I am going to take you back to a time when I wandered in Sagada. That was several years ago when I visited there. I toured Sagada because I wanted to temporarily escape from my tiring job when I was working back in the Philippines. I used my vacation leave credits and spent almost half of my monthly salary on this travel but I never regretted it because when I was there, I felt like I was in the comfort of my own home in the province. Since I had lived in a bustling city when I was working in the Philippines, I always thirsted for a green and tranquil place, and Sagada totally satisfied my needs. During my stay, I explored Sumaguing Cave. As I ventured into its depths, I was amazed by the different kinds of rock formations there. I was able to explore the cave and its hidden treasures with the help of the experienced guides. As far as I remember, I was barefooted when I was trailing the cave, and I did rappelling as well as I moved deeper. It was a challenging experience, but the guides helped me every step of the way. Unfortunately, I left my phone out of the cave, so I have no photo to share of what it looks like inside. But to be honest with you, it was indeed a tiring exploration but a rewarding experience in the end.

I also visited the Hanging Coffins. I can still recall the significant details behind it. Since the tour guide was speaking in our own language, I easily picked up everything he said. He explained that the ancient burial practice of the indigenous people there was to suspend the coffins from the sides of the cliffs, which was practiced many centuries ago. He also added that the early people believed that placing the coffins high above the ground would bring their deceased ancestors closer to heaven and ensure a peaceful transition to life after death. This practice of hanging the coffin is no longer practiced today, but it remains an important cultural heritage for the people there in Sagada.

Sagada holds a special place in my heart because it was there that I appreciated the beauty of nature and the beauty of its heritage. As I reflect on my past visit, the memories still come alive. I will surely visit this place again in the future.

Really interesting place to visit.

Indeed! I also forgot to mention that in Sagada you will enjoy its cool climate since the town is located at a high altitude. So if you plan to escape from a hot city visiting this place can be considered.

pangarap ko din na mka travel dyan sa SAGADA 😊

Ang ganda ng Sagada. Kapag pumunta tayo pwede tayo makipag inuman with the locals risk free. Imagine zero crime rate ang Sagada.

Hindi ako takot sa crime rate takot ako kung magkano ma budget 😅😆🤣

Maybe 5k is enough. Let's just arrange it with the local travel agency in the Phils.

5k will be enough coz you will shoulder the food and accomodation 🤣😅

Sure thing! We'll be eating cabbage then because it's quite cheap if we buy it there. Then maybe we sleep outside the cave, we just need to bring a tent.
