Mount Sinabung Tourism, between beauty and sadness

in Pinmapple14 days ago

Mount Sinabung is an active Mount Merapi in North Sumatra Province, Indonesia. For the past 1 year, Mount Sinabung has been very gentle and doesn't seem angry about releasing its lava. Mount Sinabung was actually very beautiful when I was little. Mount Sinabung is one of my favorite mountains, but that doesn't mean I have ever climbed it or conquered this mountain, it's not that I don't have a hobby of climbing at all. However, even so, I really like it when I am close to Mount Sinabung, I can even go to Mount Sinabung once every 2 weeks with my wife by riding a two-wheeled vehicle.

The beauty of Mount Sinabung can not only be seen from one place, but many areas can see the beauty of Mount Sinabung. I forgot, I think I've posted the beauty of Mount Sinabung before. However, it turns out that in the last few years and even several months I haven't been there anymore, the changes have continued with new photo spots which have kept my wife and I constantly curious and never bored at all. And to enjoy the beauty of Mount Sinabung, we don't have to pay a fortune because there are many interesting photo spots on the side of the road that are still free and not managed by local residents.

There are lots of interesting and not boring photo spots because of the fresh mountain air, the strong aroma of the protected forest and the pleasant journey to this place, making anyone feel at home here for a long time and if it's a holiday, this place will be crowded with people. local or foreign tourists. And to be able to enjoy this photo spot, you only need to pay for parking, which is IDR. 5000 to Rp. 10,000 or if the exchange rate is not up to 1 U$ dollar.

But here it is not only about its beauty that I will discuss with you, but something that seems to have been forgotten. Like women who dress up to slightly cover their real face to make them look more beautiful, the same goes for the appearance of Sinabung which is deliberately dressed up by local residents to make it more charming and ready to be sold, but in reality behind Sinabung's make-up there are many sad stories. Where several villages located on Mount Sinabung have become dead villages that cannot be lived in anymore until now. There are several villages affected by Mount Sinabung's lava, but now I will discuss Sukendebi District, Kuta Rakyat Karo Regency, the location of the village is only 4 KM from Mount Sinabung.

This village used to be a densely populated village with schools, places of worship, trade centers and other densely populated houses, but in 2012, that was when the first earthquake occurred due to the eruption of Mount Sinabung which was so large that many villages were affected to the point of being devastated. - hundreds of kilometers away. And from the cold lava flood there were 3 villages that had a big impact, including Sukandebi village, where the village is very close to the volcano. Since 2012 until now there have been frequent subsequent eruptions of Mount Merapi so that these 3 villages are currently uninhabited. The village residents chose to flee to safer places and some chose to move to relocation sites chosen by the government.

Hopefully in the future there will be no more sad stories about Mount Sinabung and only its beauty will be visible so that foreign investors will also come here. Thank you for reading my post. I hope we are all healthy and fine, and
Greetings from me Tomidiwirja, Indonesia

The place looks really charming so sorry to heard about earthquake, it's terrible when such things happen and destroy villages 😭

It was really sad when I was there. Many houses were damaged and abandoned. Just imagine how terrible this disaster was
