Hi Everyone,
One of the places we wanted to take the kids to in Osaka was the famous Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan. Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan is considered one of the best aquariums in the world due to the amazing architecture within the complex. Located in Minato Ward of Osaka, it was around a 30-minute train ride from our home on a semi-express train. We deliberately chose a day that isn’t too sunny so it doesn’t feel like spending a day indoors is a waste. Once hubby finished all his work and meetings, we headed over there. We didn’t prebook tickets so we had to wait around 30 minutes before going in. The centre will stagger the number of people going in to control the crowd.
We were then taken to a very very long escalator to the top of the aquarium. The centerpiece of the aquarium in front of us as we got to the top is undoubtedly the enormous Pacific Ocean tank, which holds a huge 5400 tons of water. This tank is home to all of the marine life in this aquarium, including the whale sharks, manta rays, and various schools of fish. The tank spans over the levels of the aquarium so you would be walking around the tank the whole way through and along the way seeing other sea creatures on the opposite side of the building.
Along the way, you'll see various fascinating sea creatures, each more interesting than the last. From playful sea otters and curious seals to soft jellyfish and mysterious deep-sea creatures, there's something to keep our boys excited.
As we walked down to the building, the less crowded it got so we found a spot and enjoyed the huge tank watching each sea animal enjoying the water. The penguins and seals were the boy’s favourite and we were in that sections for some time as they just loved their movements.
The whole visit was very enjoyable and we spent a good 3 hours in there at least. The kids didn’t want to leave but we needed to grab some dinner and go home or else it will be too late. Trains in the evening are less frequent in our area so they weren’t too impressed. A trip isn’t complete until we visit the aquarium store. Both kids took soooooo long to find someone they wanted but in the end, they both found something they love.

Seems a wonderful experience. I've been in some aquariums here in Europe (Genova, Barcelona) and it was an emotion for me, as a lover of animals and sea. Thank you for showing this place, I've never been to Japan so far 🙃
It was a very nice aquarium with that massive tank as the feature. It was an eye opener
I can imagine :)
