I have already introduced you to Durango and Mazatlán in my last posts. However, not only the cities themselves, but also the bus ride between them was an absolute highlight for my girlfriend and me. Past deep canyons, over impressive bridges and through countless tunnels, we were hardly able to stop marveling as we drove for four hours through beautiful Mexican landscapes.
In meinen letzten Beiträgen habe ich euch bereits Durango und Mazatlán vorgestellt. Doch nicht nur die Städte selbst, sondern auch die Busfahrt zwischen ihnen war für meine Freundin und mich ein absolutes Highlight. Vorbei an tiefen Canyons, über beeindruckende Brücken und durch unzählige Tunnels kamen wir aus dem Staunen kaum heraus, als wir vier Stunden lang durch wunderschöne mexikanische Landschaften fuhren.
The tickets for a bus trip between Mazatlán and Durango are extremely expensive by Mexican standards. You pay the equivalent of over €50 for the direct connection. However, we quickly realized that the trip was worth every peso. Fortunately, we had booked the front seats on the top floor of the bus and therefore had a perfect view in all directions.
Die Tickets für eine Busfahrt zwischen Mazatlán und Durango sind für mexikanische Verhältnisse extrem teuer. Umgerechnet über 50€ bezahlt man für die Direktverbindung. Wir merkten jedoch schnell, dass die Fahrt jeden Peso wert war. Glücklicherweise hatten wir die vordersten Sitze im oberen Stockwerk des Busses gebucht und hatten somit eine perfekte Aussicht in alle Richtungen.
I could hardly stop taking photos because there were always new breathtaking views. Among other things, we crossed the 1142-metre-long Puente Baluarte, under which there is a 400-metre-deep gorge. In 2012, it was officially entered into the Guinness Book of Records as the highest cable-stayed bridge in the world.
Ich konnte kaum aufhören, zu fotografieren, denn ständig gab es neue atemberaubende Ausblicke. Unter anderem überquerten wir die 1142 Meter lange Puente Baluarte, unter der sich eine über 400 Meter tiefe Schlucht befindet. im Jahr 2012 wurde sie deshalb offiziell als höchste Schrägseilbrücke der Welt in das Guinness-Buch der Rekorde aufgenommen.
As we got closer and closer to Durango, the landscape changed a bit. The mountains became less high, the gorges flatter and there were many wide plains to admire. A lot of western films were shot in this area. At some point, the city of Durango appeared on the horizon and after almost exactly four hours, we reached the western metropolis. From there, we took the plane back to Mexico City.
Als wir Durango immer näher kamen, veränderte sich das Landschaftsbild etwas. Die Berge wurden weniger hoch, die Schluchten flacher und es gab viele weite Ebenen zu bestaunen. In dieser Gegend wurden sehr viele Western-Filme gedreht. Irgendwann tauchte die Stadt Durango am Horizont auf und nach ziemlich genau vier Stunden, erreichten wir die Western-Metropole. Von dort aus ging es für uns mit dem Flugzeug wieder zurück nach Mexiko City.
What an entertaining and spectacular bus ride! The time passed incredibly quickly. I am sure that this route is one of the most beautiful in the whole of Mexico. It must be even better with your own car if you can stop at one of the many viewpoints along the way. But whether by car or bus, I recommend that you see this impressive landscape for yourself.
Was für eine kurzweilige und spektakuläre Busfahrt! Die Zeit verging unglaublich schnell. Ich bin mir sicher, dass diese Route einer der schönsten in ganz Mexiko ist. Mit dem eigenen Auto muss es noch besser sein, wenn man unterwegs auch mal an einem der zahlreichen Aussichtspunkte stehenbleiben kann. Aber egal ob mit dem Auto oder dem Bus, ich empfehle euch, diese beeindruckende Landsdchaft einmal selbst mit eigenen Augen zu sehen.
