Yes, that's what we did in Galveston a few years ago. I sat on the balcony watching the water and everyone else went to the beach. I could watch them from there unless they decided to take a walk down the beach. But, that meant I wasn't spending time with the family.
That's what I figured. We haven't even explored much of Galveston Island, yet, so we need to do that first anyway.
Perhaps something with a balcony overlooking the beach. It's rather soothing on a cool evening.
