Garden of Lights in the Botanical Garden ,,Dimitrie Brândză,, in Bucharest(Romania)
Hello Hivians
The penultimate day of 2023 caught me in Bucharest, the day before I arrived back from my holiday in the UAE so I had a day where I could do anything, the last day of the year was scheduled to be spent with our friends in Ploiesti.
Bucharest the cosmopolitan and vibrant capital of Romania, my god there are so many things to do and explore here that I wasn't sure what to do, the first time I passed in front of the Romanian Parliament (the building is imposing, I made a post about it two years ago), I saw this architectural monument many times and I can say that every time I am impressed when I pass by it.
We visited some very nice cafes but being the end of the year I forgot to take pictures (I only have a few) so today we will go together to visit the ,,Dimitrie Brandza" Botanical Garden in Bucharest.
But not just any kind of botanical garden, but a concept of some Poles who came to Bucharest with a unique project.
So as not to create confusion the Botanical Garden is closed in winter, only the outdoor garden was accessible.
It's impressive how a team of Poles managed to combine natural elements (everything related to botanical garden vegetation) with hundreds of thousands of light bulbs and luminous figurines to create something unique, Alice in Wonderland.
Last year, at the beginning of November, the Garden of Lights project was born with the theme Alice in Wonderland.
The Botanical Garden is located at Șoseaua Cotroceni 32, Bucharest.
The price of an entrance ticket for an adult is 63lei/12,5euro, a rather expensive price but even so I gave it a chance.
Visiting hours are between 16-21 (weekends) and between 16-20 (other days).
From what I saw this place does not have its own parking so if you come here by car you have to look for a parking place on the nearby streets, just in case you will find parking there too.
But as it was the penultimate day of the year and many people from Bucharest were away to spend the end of the year in the Romanian resorts, I was lucky and just 300 meters away I found a parking place.
Not having planned in advance to visit the Botanical Garden, you will realize that I didn't have bought tickets online either, so when I got to the entrance I had a shock, there were so many people in line that I had the feeling that all of Bucharest was there.
Luckily for us, there were several ticket booths open where we could buy our tickets, we noticed a unique thing, after you paid for your tickets, the ticket booth sent them to you by sms (they sent you a QR code that you scanned at the entrance) without consuming paper and many other resources.
Right at the entrance we were told that if we scanned the QR code of the free Gardens of Lights app on our phone and answered all the questions at the end correctly we would receive a surprise gift (yes, we did that and at the end we received a very nice keychain).
Let's get lost among these bright figurines and along the colourful alleys

A magical light show display and adaptation of "Alice in Wonderland." Terrific photographs that made me feel as though I was right there in person and a child again!
Happy New Year! @triplug
Here I could really become a child again, I was lucky enough to learn about this project "Garden of Lights", and the story of "Alice in Wonderland", a Polish concept that attracted hundreds of thousands of visitors.
Happy New Year to you too!!@ninahaskin
Beautiful light show or festival, such a magical night walk you have experienced. Congrats on your win...
Thank you very much @priyanarc , indeed visiting the Botanical Garden especially the Garden of Lights was an amazing experience, I can say that this place is above other such places in Europe.
Completely agree with you...
😊
Hermosas fotos!
very beautiful and amazing park, really a very enjoyable trip
I'm so glad you liked this place and thank you for stopping by.
The blend of natural elements and vibrant lights creates a magical Alice in Wonderland atmosphere. 🍄✨ Those illuminated figurines are pure joy!
I am very glad that you liked the atmosphere created by this colorful concept, and yes, we really liked the atmosphere there, we felt like in a fairy tale.
The garden is filled with so many beautiful decorations. The light on the trees and of course the flower light are so mesmerising.
Knowing that you can get a gift just by scanning the QR code on the app wowed me.
I'm so glad you liked this place, it really is full of thousands of bulbs in thousands of colours.

So much changed since I last visited this botanical garden. Must have been already around 6 years or so but you gotta love those light decorations!
This time, unfortunately, the Botanical Garden, i.e. those greenhouses, was closed to visitors, but instead we were able to enjoy the Garden of Lights which, in my opinion, is much more beautiful than other places of its kind in Europe.
Thank you so much for stopping by.
Haven't seen other similar places but as we know Romania has a lot of unique and more beautiful places than in the rest of the world
I agree with you Romania has a lot to offer and still offers us surprises when we discover a new place not yet visited by many tourists.
