UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SAFRANBOLU! 🌍🧿🇹🇷

in Pinmapplelast year (edited)

The next stop of our trip was Safranbolu district of Karabük, Turkey's most magnificent city with a historical texture! Safranbolu is protected by UNESCO as a World cultural heritage! This region, known as Paflagonia in the Roman Empire, was home to many civilizations and was taken by the Turks in 1196 during the Ottoman period! It is also one of the most important tourism provinces of Turkey. The same historical texture has still been preserved and brought to the present day. Tourist visits continue here every season of the year. Especially Korean citizens are incredibly interested here. As soon as we came to Safranbolu, we met many Korean citizens. I agree with them because this is an incredible city that is really worth coming and seeing. I have been dreaming of coming for a long time because I have always loved these old towns. I did a little research before I came here, but when I arrived, I can say that I found much more than I expected. There were many places to see and we wanted to do some exploring before settling in the hotel. Although we were tired, we enjoyed this beautiful town.

Since Safranbolu was named after the saffron plant, there were saffron foods for sale almost everywhere. One of them is the famous Safranbolu bagel! We continued our tour with the bagels we bought from the historical bakery. All of the places looked quite cute and magnificent. In addition to the places, the townspeople living here were selling their own organic products at the stalls they opened. After settling in the hotel, I will definitely go back and shop here. I was especially happy to find organic vinegar!

While walking around the bazaar, we came across many coppersmiths! Old historical artifact doors, many blacksmithing trinkets etc. There were handcrafted products. All of them were very beautiful. Since I have a husky dog, I can say that the wolf figurine attracted my attention the most. 😂🤷I am thinking of coming here again and shopping because I am incredibly tired because we have not settled in the hotel for now and I want to enjoy shopping after resting. There are so many more places to visit. I am especially excited to visit the historical lokum shops! Since one of the most famous flavors of this place is Lokum, all of my friends ordered me lokum when they heard that I came here. Speaking of orders, I would like to talk a little bit about the prices here. I can say that the prices were average during the short time I spent here. Considering that it is a touristic area, the prices were quite good. Especially for those who earn with American dollars, I can say that vacationing here is almost free! I recommend people like me who love historical texture and old towns to come and see this beautiful town.

At the end of the day we finally arrived at our hotel. Most of the hotels here are ethnic, wooden houses. Of course, there are also classic hotels, but we preferred such a hotel because we wanted to live here completely while we were here. The rooms looked quite ethnic with old wooden ceilings. Since I just arrived, I couldn't shoot in more detail, but I immediately took off my clothes and went to sleep. I will check the quality of the hotel later, for now all I want is to sleep!

That saffron bread must be expensive hehe! It is one of the most expensive spices, I think. Thanks for this UNESCO world heritage virtual tour! Interesting to see different places in the world.

It tastes delicious! 😂🤷 I thank you for keeping me company 🌸
