Food and drink with great Atmosphere In Los Angeles: Koreatown Addition

One thing I love about Los Angeles is the fantastic places to eat and drink; with great attention to the atmosphere and treating dining as an experience.

I began with the intention for this entry to cover Los Angeles as a whole; but I found so many great locations in Koreatown alone I will probably make a series.

Except for the fine architecture on Wilshire Boulevard, much of the beauty of Koreatown is hidden. From elaborate, beautiful spa's, and fascinating shopping establishments, to top level nightlife and entertainment. Except for exploring outside green space, of which there is little, I often find little reason to leave.

I went to Yellow House for my birthday this year. The interiors has such a natural atmosphere. The food is delicious and surprisingly reasonable .

There is even a tree inside the restaurant, and so many fascinating nooks and crannies.

Heyri Cafe is another atmospheric Koreatown cafe. I often meet friends there, but it would also be a great place to have a casual date.

They specialize in drinks and deserts, but meal options are also delicious.

Another interesting cafe is "Awesome Coffee" It has been a long time since I have last been there, but it had a very "retro-punk" aesthetic when I was there last.

A pit on the pricey side of affordable; but their waffles were from another galaxy!

In a quiet corner of Koreatown sits a hole in the wall called "The Prince".  A dark and mysterious establishment lit by only the red glow of small lamps, it is hard to get pictures.

Both the food and the ambiance are high quality. My friends are obsessed with their spicy chicken; although everything I have tried there was good.

"Star Night" is a fun night out with friends, or a nice second date. Barrels set alight bring warmth, light and a feeling of fun.

The HMS Bounty. Is an old watering hole that has reasonably priced meal options.

Wish I could find more photos; it feels like an old ship inside.

Speaking of boats; "Cafe Jack" is literally in a boat.

I have to be honest; my experience with the food was okay but reviews are mixed. They also did not serve alcohol when I was there. Personally, I think the atmosphere is worth at least one visit.

Last but not least, if you are looking for surprises in an interesting space; The California Market always has interesting places to eat on the roof.

There is such a cheerful vibe with a playground and a large grassy area. The restaurant offerings are different every time I go; but in looking them up I found this recent walkthrough on youtube.

I even had a few more, but I will end it there as I can not find photos of "Bulgogi Hut," "El Cholo," "Open Aire," "R-Bar," or the many great "Chapman Plaza" (A must-go) establishments.

I did do another post here where I discussed some of these places.
