Us3inCanada Summer Vacation - Kelowna
After Vancouver, we headed our way to Okanagan Valley.
Our first stop was at Mount Boucherie Winery.
We had the tasting outside, enjoying the view of the garden and Okanagan lake.
Depois de Vancouver, seguimos para Okanagan Valley.
Nossa primeira parada foi na vinícola Mount Boucherie.
Fizemos a degustação ao ar livre, apreciando a vista do jardim e do lago Okanagan.
Then we stopped at Grizzli Winery, to taste their ice wine.
Ice wine is a dessert wine, reminded us about the Port Wine, more licourous.
The winery has several types of ice wine, each one made with berries or flowers.
It is produced from grapes that have been left after the fall harvest, so they are sweeter to make the wine.
After there, we went to the famous Mission Hill Winery.
Depois paramos na Vinícola Grizzli, para provar seu vinho gelado.
O vinho gelado é um vinho de sobremesa, lembrando-nos o Vinho do Porto, mais licoroso.
A vinícola oferece vários tipos de vinho gelado, cada um feito com frutas vermelhas ou flores.
É produzido a partir de uvas que sobraram da colheita do outono, por isso são mais doces para fazer o vinho.
Depois disso, fomos para a famosa Vinícola Mission Hill.
The winery is known not only for their Okanagan Valley Wines, but also for the amazing garden with master pieces and sculptures.
The vine there is not productive anymore, so they cultivate up north the valley now, but the deers and other animals comes to eat the grapes and berries that are still there.
We were welcomed with a glass of sparkling wine and then headed to a delightful tasting indoors: the sommelier took us to a fancy room inside the building and presented us some of their wines.
The complex also have a restaurant, next time we will try and eat there.
After those amazing tastings, we went downtown to get to know what was going on around the lake.
A vinícola é conhecida não apenas pelos vinhos do Vale Okanagan, mas também pelo incrível jardim com obras-primas e esculturas.
A vinha não é mais produtiva, então agora eles cultivam no norte do vale, mas os veados e outros animais vêm comer as uvas e os frutos que ainda estão lá.
Fomos recebidos com uma taça de espumante e depois seguimos para uma deliciosa degustação dentro de casa: o sommelier nos levou para uma sala chique dentro do prédio e nos apresentou alguns de seus vinhos.
O complexo também tem um restaurante, da próxima vez tentaremos comer lá.
Depois dessas degustações incríveis, fomos ao centro da cidade para saber o que estava acontecendo ao redor do lago.
The city is by the Okanagan Lake, and people were enjoying the sunset and practicing water sports.
There was an open market happening, with lots of artisans and local vendors, as well as artistic presentations.
We ended up having dinner at a restaurant, enjoying the sunset at the lake, before walking around.
It was a quick stay at Kelowna, but enough to conquer our hearts.
A cidade fica às margens do Lago Okanagan e as pessoas aproveitavam o pôr do sol e praticavam esportes aquáticos.
Houve uma feira livre, com muitos artesãos e vendedores locais, além de apresentações artísticas.
Acabamos jantando em um restaurante, apreciando o pôr do sol no lago, antes de passear.
Foi uma estadia rápida em Kelowna, mas o suficiente para conquistar nossos corações.
