A Beautiful Picture Of Lord Krishna

Radhe Radhe Everyone!
Hope y'all are doing well.

Today I'm here to share my experiences at the streets of Haridwar. It's a major pilgrimage site in Uttarakhand and it is situated along the river Ganga. The name Haridwar means Hari = God + Dwar = Gateway. Which means it's a Gateway to God. In every street, road or along the bank of river you will see numerous idols of God's which shows the devotion of people of the area. The picture above belongs to lord Krishna, look how beautiful it is.

Sometimes it's better to wonder without the map without it you can find yiu places that won't be possible with the maps. Sometimes unplanned things takes you to beautiful destinations.

Have you wondered without map all alone in a city unknown?

No, then you should definitely try. I tried and kid you not it was an amazing experience. So it was around 5 in the evening and I decided to export the market as the hustle bustle of the place was pretty insane. Without giving a second thought I entered a narrow street with lots of noise coming from it.

Within a flip of second, I saw huge crowd in front of me and I was amazed to see people of different age group. As its a pilgrimage site, I thought I will see people of older age group more but surprisingly I was amazed and happy to see the crowd.

Shop Selling Wooden Handmade Items

Different types of shops were there, some were selling household items some were selling idols of God. In the streets of Haridwar you will literally see people selling anything and you will also get to witnesses the culture and the tradition of Uttarakhand. One thing that I like most about Uttarakhand is people belonging to that area. They are simple and the hospitality is top notch. They talk nicely and sweetly and also they are so humble.

The market was full of different items but one thing that caught my attention was the shankh or the conch shell. They were too pretty to ignore. Here are some of the amazing pictures that I took.

IMG-20250407-WA0004.jpg

Corn Shell or Shankh

People associates shankh with the God and it holds cultural and religious significance. It is also believed that blowing this before doing any rituals will remove all the negative energy and if you have noticed it is blown during puja at every temple.

People associates different belives with it, according to some in Buddhism- it is believed that It represent sounds of Buddha and spread calmness and purify your thoughts.

IMG-20250407-WA0025.jpg

There are different type of shankh based on their spiral direction. Sonmme are spiral to the right and some are spiral towards left. The one with right spiral are difficult to find. Basically it symbolizes the origin of life

After taking a deep look at the shankh I went forward to explore the streets and I noticed people selling the flower garland. There were different types of flowers that were held together with the help of a needle. Upon doping talking with uncle who was selling them , I came to know that he is doing this work from past ten years and he is doing good business as well.

Old Man SellingFlower Garland

To protect himself from themselves , sunlight usees an umbrella As I asked can I take a picture of him- he was really emotional And said that he's leaving all alone as his wife died 2 years ago and his children does not care about him. This also made me cry, how can somaeone not care about their parent. I took pictures of him and I also gifted him his picture.

There were lots of such people at the Streets of haridwar selling different types of items irrespective of the gender. Which is good.

Handmade Chillum

These are handlmade chillum or you can also call them conical smoking pipes which is used in India long time ago when kings use to rule the world. Earlier they were made up from clay but now you will see different types of them made uo of wood, stone or even glass.

IMG-20250407-WA0013.jpg

It is used in smoking but if you have noticed lots of sadhus also use it spiritual and religious gathering as it is closely related to Shiva and also act as spiritual tool in some practices.

I never wander around in an unknown place and I would never dare try 😆. I might never find my way back, if I ever try. Lol. Anyways, Haridwar is one busy place no, there's a lot to see and you can also discover lots of things. I'll go there if given the chance but I need someone who can accompany me, lol. I hope all these sellers get a lot of costumers and get a good sales ✨✨
