Continuing our trip on the last post we sadly "arrivederci Capri", and arrived here in Sorrento, the first places we went to visit was the Amalfitana Coast cities that we visited on the last post...
Now it's time to explore Sorrento, I confess that didn't know what to expect, as a bigger city with heavy traffic, researched some places and setup on my map, and it didn't disappoint. Let us know more about this coastal city.

Sorrento
How cool to be able to talk about Sorrento! Indeed, the choice of hotel in Sorrento was successful and the value for money was excellent.
We arrived after exoloing Capri and Anacapri and were greeted with a delicious craft beer and a bag of chips, which went down really well. The hotel's hospitality was amazing from the first moment.
Sorrento is the location of our hotel because it is cheaper than the hotels on the Amalfi Coast, for those who want to save money, I recommend it.
In the first days, we are dedicated to visiting the cities of the southern part of the Amalfi Coast, in this post, we will visit the beaches of the north side and a little bit of the city downtown.
Sorrento is a coastal town with the culture and vibe of a big beach town, where car and motorcycle traffic is intense during the day and the peace of a small town reigns at night. With a charming historic centre, full of shops, restaurants and bars, but with a beachy vibe.
But we managed to find where the people of Sorrento go at night.
In this part of the trip, we are divided between the Amalfi Coast and Sorrento, this post will be dedicated to Sorrento since the last post was dedicated to the Amalfi Coast.
Now, in addition to talking a little about the city downtow Sorrento, we will visti:
- Bagni di Regina
- Cala di Puolo
- Kyma beach
- Spiaggia la Marinella
- Bagni tina
Let's go to the beaches first and leave the downtown to last part.
Bagni Regina Giovanna
The first stop was at Bagni di Regina, a beach full of stones and rocks and very nice with many things to explore.
An incredible view of the sea which is about 2 km from the center of Sorrento. We took our motorcycle and went to visit.
I think it was the beach where we stayed the longest because it has a lot to explore and it's beautiful in every corner.
With Roman ruins for you to explore, trails to the beaches to tire your legs and rest on the rocks watching the sea waves.

When we were going down to the beach, there was an olive harvest, it was very interesting to see the people doing the harvest. And then I had the brilliant idea of getting one for trial.
Here's the tip, don't do that, my mouth was tied for a long time and nothing I ate or drank took that bitterness out of my mouth.
After going up a small, very steep trail, we watched the fishermen on the rocks, with a view of Mount Vesuvius in the background, all imposing.
Then it was time to explore the ruins, I could imagine someone living there a long time ago, I even want to research more about what those ruins were.

From what little I remember about the ruins, it looks like it was a villa belonging to an emperor's daughter.
With several bedrooms, a huge dining room, patio and several bathrooms and an incredible view of the sea. This village should be a beautiful thing.
Abandoned today, maybe not so much, because it looks like someone is camping there. Remnants of bonfires and things left behind, or somewhere people visit at night for drinks.
As it was a beautiful day with strong sun, we took the opportunity to sunbathe, and have brunch with fruits and snacks like good Brazilians on the beach.
The only thing missing was the cooler with the beers. haha. But beer and motorbikes don't mix very well.

We stayed there for a while talking, eating and drinking, and basically watching and listening to the waves hitting the rocks.
Then we went down a trail to one of the beaches where a sea bath was necessary to relieve the heat.
The biggest difficulty was balancing between the stones and rocks with the strong waves coming and going. At that time I missed the beaches with sand.
Cala di Puolo
Let's have lunch? We decided to go to Cala di Puolo beach because we saw on the map that it was a beach with several restaurants.
Being on a motorcycle was good at that moment, a steep descent to the beach, full of curves where large cars have difficulty passing and you have to stop in a parking lot a little above and walk down to the beach. Already with the bike, we went down there.
The pebble beach is also very beautiful, with children playing on the beach while families have lunch in the restaurants.
Very peaceful and familiar, we chose a restaurant that I won't remember the name now, but which had very appetizing dishes and was very full.
We were very well received and the lunch was simply amazing. I ate this seafood risotto from the photo, accompanied by a great Italian wine. Ah the Italian wines, there's no mistake. All were very good.

After lunch, we decided to stay there to enjoy the beach more and watch the sunset.

The beautiful beach, with vegetation around, the cliffs and that blue water. We found a good corner on the rocks and stayed there enjoying the landscape, exchanging ideas and listening to music.

Kyma
On the next day, our second day to explore Sorrento, we went to visit more beaches on the west side of the city.
We start with the furthest way to go back, the first stop being Kyma Beach. I really liked it, a very quiet beach with that crystalline blue sea typical of the region, like everyone we've seen so far, lol.
This is another good beach option in Sorrento, with chairs and umbrellas for rent and bars serving drinks and snacks.
It's on the side of a gigantic cliff! A sign prohibiting getting close due to the risk of falling stones on your head is there. Better not to risk it and stay away.

Lido Metamate
A quick stop at a scenic spot en route to the next beach.
We ended up not going down to the beach, but a very nice view to spend about 5 minutes enjoying the landscape.
Spiaggia la Marinela
Spiaggia la Marinela, on the other hand, is very close to the center and is very different, people are on a pier sunbathing.
With a very calm sea, great for swimming. But this time we preferred to stay in the square above the beach admiring the landscape and enjoying some snacks.
The tranquility of an interior square with an incredible view from up there, it was really worth going there.

Bagni Tina
Ah, Bagni Tina! Once again Sorrento surprised us. I confess that I didn't expect much from this stop because it's a port beach, but...
Once there, what a show! Even though it is a port beach with several boats in the marina, the part for bathers is excellent. Calm water that forms a true natural pool.
As the motto of the trip says: it only gets better!
A pier right in the middle of the beach that forms a reef, a great place to stay, of course, you have to swim there.
Even with the rough sea that was making all these days, this beach was completely calm. He immediately invited us to get in the water and cool off the hot weather!
We decided to stay there and I don't even remember if we had planned to go to another beach, but there it was perfect.

To get there, a giant ramp, great for doing the day's exercise. We decided to walk down.
It was at that moment that I lost my GoPro, filming while swimming and water got into the container.
After lots of beach, sea and heat, that moment we love, the sunset.
With the golden sun shining on the sea and clouds, it was incredible to watch this sunset by the sea, it is a perfect vantage point to enjoy the panorama.

Downtown
The city center is very good. It has several cultural sites, bars, restaurants, squares, parks and much more besides the countless churches all with their charm.
That was one of the things I liked about Sorrento, you know when you start to imagine that you could live there? Beautiful beaches but with a center with lots of things to do.
Downtown was our most nightly destination for food, drink, and sightseeing.

We visited some churches, such as the Parrocchia San Rosario church, as it is located at the top of the hill, it has an incredible view of the landscape.
It was a great moment to stop a little and thank you for the opportunity to be on this incredible trip, which even at the beginning, everything was wonderful.

Most of the nights we went for a walk downtown, had dinner and ice cream, which was one of the best we tasted on this whole trip.
Of course, we didn't visit all the ice cream shops, but we tried...

On the famous street Corso Italia, you will find countless shops, selling everything from clothes, jewelry to handicrafts.
The Region is very busy at night, very nice to walk around and that atmosphere of an inland city with a beach. A delight.
Piazza della Repubblica is ideal for eating something or having a gelato, and this was one of our favorite places on the whole trip.
Until today we talk about the Ice Cream there. Sitting in the inner city square.

San Miguel Arcangelo is another beautiful church, with a very imposing door all carved with holy images.
And that was the passage through Sorrento. We didn't expect much from the beaches of Sorrento, but we were pleasantly surprised. It just gets better!

Continuando nossa viagem que no último post "nos despedimos de Capri" com tristeza, e chegamos aqui em Sorrento, os primeiros lugares que fomos visitar foram as cidades da Costa Amalfitana que visitamos no último post...
Agora é hora de explorar Sorrento, confesso que não sabia o que esperar, pois uma cidade maior e com muito trânsito, pesquisei alguns lugares e montei no meu mapa, e não decepcionou. Vamos conhecer mais sobre esta cidade costeira.

Sorrento
Que legal poder falar sobre Sorrento! Realmente, a escolha do hotel em Sorrento foi sucesso e o custo-benefício foi ótimo. Acabei me apaixonando pela cidade.
Chegamos depois de exolorar Capri e Anacapri e fomos recebidos com uma cerveja artesanal deliciosa e um pacote de chips, que caiu super bem. A hospitalidade do hotel foi incrível desde o primeiro momento.
Sorrento for local do nosso hotel por ser mais barato que os hoteis na Costa Amalfi, para quem quer economizar, recomendo.
Nos primeiros dias nos dedicamos a conhecer as cidades da zona sul da Costa Amalfitana, neste post vamos conhecer as praias da zona norte e um pouco do centro da cidade.
Sorrento é uma cidade costeira no com cultura e uma vibe de cidade grande praieira, onde de dia trânsito de carros e motos são intensos e de noite a paz de uma cidade pequena reina, tem um centro histórico encantador, com muitas lojas, restaurantes e bares, mas com aquela vibe praiana.
Mas conseguimos encontrar onde fica o agito nas noites de Sorrento.
Nesta parte da viagem, ficamos divididos entre Costa Amalfi e Sorrento, este post sera dedicado a Sorrento ja que o último post foi dedicado a Costa Amalfitana.
Agora, além de falar um pouco sobre o centro da cidade de Sorrento, vamos visitar:

- Praia de Kyma

Vamos as praias e deixamos centro por último.
Bagni Regina Giovanna
A primeira parada foi no Bagni di Regina, uma praia cheia de pedras e rochas bem legal com muitas coisas para explorer.
Uma vista incrível do mar que fica uns 2 km do centro de Sorrento. Pegamos nossa moto e fomos visitar.
Acho que foi a praia que ficamos mais tempo porque tem muito o que explorar e ela é linda em todos os cantos.
Com ruinas romanas, para você explorer, trilhas para as praias para cansar as pernas e descansar nas pedras observando as ondas do mar.

Quando estávamos descendo para a praia, estava tendo colheita de azeitonas, foi muito interessante ver o pessoal fazendo a colheita. E ai que tive a brilhante ideia de pegar uma para experimental.
Fica a dica, não faça isso, minha boca ficou amarrada por muito tempo e nada do que comia ou bebia tirava o aquele amargor da minha boca.
Depois de subir uma pequena trilha bem ingreme, ficamos observando os pescadores nas pedras, com vista para o Vesúvio ao fundo todo imponente.
Depois foi hora de explorer as ruinas, dava para imaginar alguem morando ali a muito tempo atrás, quero até pesquisar mais sobre o que eram aquelas ruinas.

Pelo pouco que me lembro sobre as ruinas, parece que era uma villa de alguma filha de um imperador.
Com vários quartos, uma sala de jantar enorme, pátio e vários banheiros e com uma vista incrível para o mar. Deveria ser uma coisa linda essa vila.
Hoje abandonadas, talvez nem tanto, porque parece que alguem acampa por alí. Vestígios de fogueiras e coisas deixadas pra trás, ou algum lugar onde pessoas visitem de noite para tomar umas.
Como estava um dia lindo com sol forte, aproveitamos para tomar sol, fazer um brunch com frutas e petiscos como bons brasileiros.
Só faltou o cooler com as cervejas. haha. Mas cerveja e moto não combina muito bem.

Ficamos por alí um tempo conversando, comendo e bebendo, e basicamente vendo e ouvindo as ondas batendo nas rochas.
Depois descemos por uma trilha até uma das praias onde um banho de mar foi necessário para aliviar o calor.
A maior dificuldade era se equilibrar entre as pedras e rochas com as fortes ondas indo e vindo. Nessa hora senti falta das praias com areia.
Cala di Puolo
Vamos almoçar? Decidimos ir para a praia Cala di Puolo porque vimos no mapa que era uma praia com vários restaurantes.
Estar de moto foi bom nesse momento, uma descida ingrime até a praia, cheia de curvas onde carros grandes tem dificuldade para passar e tem que parar em um estacionamento um pouco acima e descer andando até a praia. Já com a moto, fomos até lá embaixo.
A praia de cascalho também muito bonita, com crianças brincando na praia enquanto as familias almoçando nos restaurantes.
Muito tranquila e familiar, escolhemos um restaurante que não vou recordar o nome agora, mas que tinha pratos bem apetitosos e estava bem cheio.
Fomos muito bem recebidos e o almoço estava simplesmente incrível. Comi esse risoto de frutos do mar da foto, acompanhando de um ótimo vinho Italiano. Ah os vinhos italianos, não tem erro. Todos eram muito bons.

Após almoço, resolvemos ficar por lá para aproveitar mais da praia e já ficar para ver o por do sol.

A praia linda, com vegetação em volta, os penhascos e aquela água azul. Achamos um bom canto nas pedras e ficamos por lá apreciando a paisagem, trocando ideias e ouvindo música.

Kyma
Já no próximo dia, nosso segundo dia para explorar Sorrento, fomos visitar mais praias do lado oeste da cidade.
Começamos pela mais longe para ir voltando, sendo a primeira parada na Kyma Beach. Gostei muito, uma praia bem tranquila e com aquele mar azul cristalino típico da região, como todos que vimos até agora, rsrs.
Esta é uma outra boa opção de praia em Sorrento, com cadeiras e guarda-sóis para alugar e bares que servem bebidas e petiscos.
Fica ao lado de um penhasco gigantesco! Uma placa de proibido chegar perto por risco de cair pedras na cabeça está la. Melhor não arriscar e ficar longe.

Lido Metamate
Uma parada rapida em um ponto panoramico na rota da proxima praia.
Acabamos não descendo para a praia, mas uma vista bem legal para gastar uns 5 minutos apreciando a paisagem.
Spiaggia la Marinela
Já a Spiaggia la Marinela fica bem próxima ao centro e é bem diferente, as pessoas ficam em um pier tomando sol.
Com um mar bem calmo, ótimo para nadar. Mas dessa vez preferimos ficar na praça acima da praia admirando a paisagem e curtindo uns petiscos.
Tranquilidade de uma praça do interior com uma vista incrível lá de cima, valeu muito a pena passar por lá.

Bagni Tina
Ah, Bagni Tina! Mais uma vez Sorrento nos surpeendendo. Confesso que não esperava muito dessa parada por ser praia de porto, mas...
Chegando lá, que espetáculo! Mesmo sendo uma praia de porto com varios barcos na marina, a parte dos banhistas é excelente. Agua calma que forma uma verdadeira piscina natural.
Como diz o lema da viagem: só melhora!
Um pier bem no meio da praia que forma um recife, ótimo lugar para ficar, claro, tem que chegar nadando.
Mesmo com mar agitado que estava fazendo todos esses dias essa praia estava totalmente calma. Já logo nos convidou para entrar na agua e refrescar o calor que fazia!
Decidimos ficar por alí e nem lembro se tinhamos planejado ir para outra praia, mas alí estava perfeito.

Para chegar, uma rampa gigante, ótima para fazer o exercício do dia. Decidimos descer andando.
Foi nesse momento que perdi minha GoPro, filmando enquanto nadava e entrou água no container.
Depois de muita praia, mar e calor, chegou aquele momento que adoramos, o por do sol.
Com o sol dourado bilhando refletindo no mar e nas nuvens, foi incrivel assistir esse por-do-sol à beira-mar é um ponto de vista perfeito para aproveitar o panorama.

Downtown
O centro da cidade é muito bom. Tem varios locais culturais, bares, restaurantes, praças, parques e muito mais além calro das incontáveis igrejas todas com seu charme.
Isso foi uma das coisas que gostei de Sorrento, sabe quando você começa a imaginar que conseguiria morar por ali? Praias lindas mas com um centro com várias coisas para fazer.
O centro foi nosso destino quase todas as noites para comer, beber e passear.

Visitamos algumas igrejas, como a igreja Parrocchia San Rosario, como está localizada no alto do morro, tem uma vista incrível da paisagem.
Foi um ótimo momento para parar um pouco e agradecer pela oportunidade de estar fazendo essa viagem incrível, que mesmo que no começo, estava tudo maravilhoso.

Maioria das noites fomos passear no centro, jantar e tomar sorvete, que foi um dos mais gostosos que provamos desta viagem toda.
Claro que nao visitamos todas as sorveterias, mas tentamos...

Na rua Corso Italia, bem famosa, você vai encontrar inúmeras lojas, vendendo de tudo, roupas, joias até artesanatos.
A Região bem movimentada durante a noite, bem legal para passear e aquele clima de cidade do interior com praia. Uma delícia.
A Piazza della Repubblica pe ideal para comer algo ou tomar um gelato, e esse foi um dos que mais gostamos na viagem toda.
Até hoje comentamos do Sorvete de lá. Sentados na praça bem cidade do interior.

E foi isso a passagem por Sorrento. Não esperavamos muito das praias de Sorrento, mas fomos surpeendidos novamente. Só Melhora!
