Big Falls on S. Jump River, Price County - Whimsical Wisconsin

Looking for another fishing spot, we found this beautiful park in Price County. Here, the South Fork of the Jump River flows north to meet another river/creek (maybe the North Fork?) on its way to meet up with the Mississippi.

Before enjoying the above view, we went for a walk down a path...
Along the way, we saw a lot of wildlife.

This wild rose...

This unknown berry (defied my attempts to identify it.) Sadly, the photo is blurry... but one could probably identify it if we were to find those strange berries.

Then, this Eastern Forktail Damselfly.
You know it's a damselfly rather than a dragonfly because:

• This one holds its wings together when resting whereas a dragonfly holds the wings out.
• Damselflies tend to have a much more slender body than a dragonfly.

Still above the waterfall... looking both upstream...

A still of the waterfall (more of a good rapids than a fall, but this is Wisconsin - there are no mountains here.)

Finally, an inspirational picture - maybe next time, we'll go here for our fishing - looks like a great spot!
