Today, I didn't plan for a grand adventure, just a simple, refreshing morning walk..
Sometimes, the best moments are found right in our own backyard,, or on the road less travelled!!
As I strolled along, enjoying the cool breeze and the brilliant sunlight filtering through the trees, I passed by a truly green and interesting place: the famous Mango Research Center!

*now, they aren't just focused on mangoes but also on crops..
It immediately brought me back to my high school days..
I remember our class going here for an educational tour..
It's a place that really celebrates what Guimaras is most famous for,, the sweetest mangoes in the world.. 🥭 😋
I really wanted to go inside, especially since the sign says they also have a Production Support Center,, but I ran into a bit of a snag!!
They require an ID for entry,, and because I just planned a simple, quick walk, my ID was at home.. 🤦♀️ Classic!!
So, I continued my walk, but that doesn't mean I won't explore the research center.. 😆
I took photos just outside the concrete fence.. and I found a secret garden 🌿😁
🧑🌾So since I couldn't get past the gate, I peeked in and saw all the great things happening!!

Beyond the huge mango trees, the staff are busy with other crops, too.. It’s not just mangoes here!!
They have neat garden plots where they grow different vegetables..
I could spot some new plantings, looking small but healthy,, and saw some great vines climbing up the fences..
I saw some great signs of life,, maybe eggplants, ladyfingers and string beans!!
It's like a complete farm-to-table system right here...

*and here's their greenhouse.. can't really see what plants are inside, but it's a huge greenhouse,, so it might be a combination of different types..
As I walk further,, I saw the vast mango plantaion..
🌿 Just look at the trees!! 🌳🌳
The center is practically a green jungle..
I love how the morning sun bursts through the thick branches, casting that beautiful, bright light..
It’s so easy to get lost in the sight of these towering, old mango trees..
It feels like stepping into a nature park!!
It was a great reminder that even on a simple, unplanned walk, you can find a lot of history, nature and hard work happening all around you...
Seeing all that green and growth was the perfect way to start my day!!
Maybe next time, I'll come back with my ID so I can explore the deep mango forest.. 🥭 🌳
