Hiking 3,647 meters (11,965 feet) of peak with 15 feets of snow ❄️

Hello everyone, I'm excited to share a wonderful experience I had just a few days ago.
It all started when I was sitting with my friend, remembering about old memories and flipping through old photographs. Suddenly, my friend Anmol suggested that we embark on another adventure and hike the beautiful Churdhar mountain. We were all instantly thrilled by the idea and decided to pack our bags that very day.

Churdhar is no ordinary mountain—it stands tall at an elevation of 3,647 meters (11,965 feet) and is the highest peak in Sirmour district.

We knew the hike would be hard because there was a lot of snow, about 15 feet deep, covering the top of the mountain. But we weren't scared of the challenge. The five of us decided to go on the hike anyway.

On the first day, we planned to camp during our hike. But then, we noticed that our phone batteries were almost dead. So, we all agreed to put away our phones and enjoy the peace of nature without any distractions.

The next morning, we continued our climb.

As we went higher, we saw stunning views of mountains covered in snow.

It was so beautiful that we couldn't help but play in the snow like kids, laughing and having fun.

The trees looked really pretty with snow all over them. In the photos, you can see how magical they looked with snow on their branches.

And the snow on the ground looked like a big heap of ice cream.

We were having a great time, but we didn't see any animals or other people around, which made us a little nervous.

We realized we were lost in the middle of nowhere, unsure which way to go because of all the snow.

Normally, we visit this place every year, but it's usually snow-free. After about an hour, we finally found the right path and continued our hike, at the snowy landscapes. The trees were covered in snow, and it felt like we were in a dream with no worries about slipping or falling.

After some time, we arrived at the temple of Shirgul Maharaj, a holy place nestled among the mountains.

The temple had a peaceful and serene atmosphere. It was a beautiful temple made of stone and wood only, and you can see its architecture in the photos.

Despite being at such a high altitude and without transportation facilities, the temple was built with great craftsmanship. Unfortunately, due to heavy snowfall the temple was closed, so we decided to offer our prayers from outside.

After spending time near the Shirgul Maharaj Temple, we hiked for about an hour to reach the summit.

There, we saw an amazing view of the world below and a statue of Lord Mahadev, also known as Shiva.

It was truly inspired all of us. We also discussed about the history and some tales of Churdhar.

I hope you've enjoyed reading about our adventure to Churdhar.

Thank you ☺️...

The place looks stunning. Snow is something I'm not used to, since I live in the center of Mediterranean Sea, and everytime I see it, it is like a magic for me. Thank you for showing this place :)

@wanderloom I think you had a wonderful time, the snow looks like a meringue cake, I love the photos.
