RE: Our Lady of the Rocks (Gospa od Škrpjela) and St George island, Boka Kotorska

in Worldmappin3 days ago

That was a long history of St George island, Boka Kotorska @duskobgd. Hello. Have you knew it already before you visited the island or learned about it during the visit? It is nice to read such clear insights and information about these island. These history, of which mostly are romantic, adds interest to the overall identity of the island. They are stories that helped shaped the island and even me, who just read it, felt that this place is a sanctuary of good life. Many have happened but still it persevered. I would like to emphasize that I'm hooked to this blog especially because of the details in the photos. Like the Sistine Chapel of the Montenegrin Coast. The way you captured every detail made us immerse on the trip you had. Such a great time on the island. Thank you for sharing this with us.

Thank you for such a wonderful comment 🫶

I'm so glad you enjoyed your "trip" through my photo gallery.
Some of the photos from this post are among my most favorite ever (the one with the boat and the church in the background).

Before I sat in the boat that transported us to the island, I knew the history of it, heard the story of a woman who waited for her husband for years and wove a tapestry, but I did not know the history of the other island, today closed to the public, and the story told by the young man who steered the boat, about that unfortunate love of a French soldier, further strengthened the emotions during this tour.
