Before the year ended, I had to revisit Cachamay Park in Puerto Ordaz, Venezuela. I was also curious about other trails in the park that I hadn't yet explored. It's an endless park to wander through, with its lush vegetation, forests, and numerous views of waterfalls; it feels practically infinite, never truly ending. This time, I took a path I had seen before but never hiked, and as I did, I was able to appreciate even more of the park's beauty: towering trees, abundant vegetation with many plant species, and perhaps some animals and insects. Without a doubt, as I see it, it's a paradise.

I think I can say I've already explored about 60% of the park, although there are many inaccessible areas because nature has reclaimed its resources. However, there used to be paths, perhaps because it was frequently visited by many people. These days, not many people come because they prefer other locations in the city, but they're missing out on a natural gem, an infinite harmony within its natural surroundings. Listening to the sounds of the waterfalls, the silence of the forests, and the occasional birdsong is simply spectacular.

If I had to give this place a name, I would call it the Forest Trail, or perhaps the Silence of the Forests. The path is made up of trails and hills, very typical of the city's geography; completely flat terrain is rare. On the one hand, it's a bit tiring to walk because you literally feel yourself going up and down, your legs suddenly getting heavier, but that's just how it is, and it's part of the journey, so to speak.

This time, I wanted to take more time to explore these landscapes, so I didn't follow the route to the other connecting park, known as Leofling Park. That route crosses part of the city and is closer to my house if I walk. However, I didn't walk; instead, I took a bus because it was getting dark. It was about 10 minutes before sunset, and it usually takes me about 40 minutes to walk through the entire wooded area that connects the parks.

I had done it before, but perhaps a few minutes earlier. By the time I reached the park exit, it was almost night, but I was in the city. I mention this because in that vast forest, everything gets very dark, and you can barely see where you're walking. Also, some wild animals, especially wild boars and tigers, might come out. While they aren't very common in the area, they are there, and they come out to hunt at those hours, which is one of the main reasons for the certain danger.

Anyway, every time I visit these parks, there are many reasons to keep exploring new paths and routes, simply to appreciate the beauty of nature, which is different every day. Some days the parks look very dry, other days they take on very autumnal hues, or even very vibrant green tones, so much so that they saturate the image when you try to capture it. Soon I'll be visiting other interesting corners of the city that I may never have been to, but I need to find out more about how to get there, because the idea is to keep exploring and sharing my experiences through this platform.
