Hey, chicos. Espero estén muy bien. Este es un post muy especial para mí, porque es un tema que me hace conectar con mi niña interior. Hace mucho tenía ganas de viajar a Caripe, donde vive mi tía y primos a quiénes solía visitar a menudo años atrás. Primero les hablaré un poco sobre este hermoso pueblo, que está ubicado en el estado Monagas - Venezuela. Queda a 2 horas y 19 minutos de mi ciudad. Se encuentra en una región montañosa, por tanto, el clima es húmedo y frío a comparación de donde vivo que el clima es bastante caluroso. Esto favorece mucho para la producción de muchas cosas, pero sobre todo lechuga, tomate, café, fresa, mora, y frambuesa. También se alquilan bonitas cabañas en distintos puntos de la ciudad, para pasar un agradable fin de semana. Es conocido como el "Jardín del Oriente Venezolano"

Hey, guys. I hope you are okay. This is a very special post for me, because it is a topic that makes me connect with my inner child. I have long wanted to travel to Caripe, where my aunt and cousins live, whom I used to visit often years ago. First I will tell you a little about this beautiful town, which is located in the state of Monagas - Venezuela. It is 2 hours and 19 minutes from my city. It is located in a mountainous region, therefore, the climate is humid and cold compared to where I live where the climate is quite hot. This is very favorable for the production of many things, but especially lettuce, tomatoes, coffee, strawberries, blackberries, and raspberries. There are also beautiful cabins for rent in different parts of the city, to spend a pleasant weekend. It is known as the "Garden of the Venezuelan East".

Esta foto la tomé de camino a visitar a una prima, su casa queda en una subida, donde se puedo apreciar mejor todo. Cabe destacar, que esa área no es de mucha producción a comparación de otras, donde hay mucho más terreno para ello, sin embargo, se nota que están retomando la parte agrícola.

I took this photo on my way to visit a cousin, her house is on a hill, where I can better appreciate everything. It is worth noting that this area is not very productive compared to others, where there is much more land for it, however, it is noticeable that they are resuming the agricultural part.
Mi último recuerdo del último viaje ahí es estando niña aún, pero albergo muy buenos y lindos recuerdos de allí. Siempre que pienso en Caripe puedo asociarlo con cosas muy específicas: frío, fresas con crema, La cueva del Guacharo (que es un monumento natural turístico del lugar), frambuesas y un gran monumento de un Guacharo (un ave de caverna) al entrar al pueblo al cuál no pude tomarle una foto porque al verlo estaba en un carro en marcha, pero buscaré una referencia. Cuando mencionaron que íbamos, tenía al menos 3 objetivos en mente: comer fresas con crema, ir a La Cueva del Guacharo y comer frambuesas. Al llegar, tenía sentimientos encontrados, me sentí como en casa, pero estaba algo triste porque parecía que ninguna de esas cosas eran posibles.

My last memory of my last trip there is still as a child, but I have very good and nice memories from there. Whenever I think of Caripe I can associate it with very specific things: cold, strawberries and cream, La cueva del Guacharo (which is a natural tourist monument of the place), raspberries and a big monument of a Guacharo (a cave bird) at the entrance of the town which I couldn't take a picture of because it was in a moving car, but I will look for a reference. When they mentioned we were going, **I had at least 3 goals in mind: eat strawberries with cream, go to La Cueva del Guacharo and eat raspberries**. Upon arrival, I had mixed feelings, it felt like home, but I was a little sad because it seemed that none of those things were possible.

Ya al día siguiente mi mamá y toda la familia sabían mis objetivos, y todos en la casa hicieron todo lo posible para que cumplir con cada una, lo cuál agradezco muchísimo con todo el corazón. Mi primo estaba un poco ocupado, pero aún así dispuso tiempo para llevarnos a nuestra primera parada: El rincón de Walter. Este también es uno de los lugares especiales para mí, cada que íbamos a Caripe, sin falta visitábamos este lugar.

Already the next day my mom and the whole family knew my goals, and everyone in the house did their best to accomplish each one, for which I am very grateful with all my heart. My cousin was a little busy, but he still made time to take us to our first stop: Walter's Corner. This is also one of the special places for me, every time we went to Caripe, we visited this place without fail.

Para empezar, este lugar es donde venden las mejores fresas con crema de todo Caripe e incluso, las mejores que han probado mi paladar por mucho. También venden vinos artesanales, galletas, dulces, etc. Pero su especialidad son: Las fresas con crema.

For starters, this place is where they sell the best strawberries with cream in all of Caripe and even the best my palate has tasted by far. They also sell artisanal wines, cookies, candies, etc. But their specialty is: Strawberries with cream.
Luego de allí, nos dirigimos a La Cueva del Guacharo, que queda a unos 11 min de donde nos encontramos, cada que nos acercábamos más, hacia mucho más frío.

From there, we headed to La Cueva del Guacharo, which is about 11 minutes from where we were, and every time we got closer, it got much colder.
Finalmente llegamos, y el clima estaba helado pero de una forma muy agradable, se sentía reconfortante, y la belleza que nos ofrece este lugar solo potencia la emoción que sentía, habían flores en todos lados, entrando se encuentra una venta de artesanías (que también lamento no haberlo fotografiado por la prisa) pero ofrecían distintos dulces, snaks, postres y para variar, accesorios, especialmente con cuarzos de distintos colores. Los vendedores ofrecían muestras gratis, acepté probar un postre de chocolate con almendras y también Chimichurri sobre un chicharrón, estaban muy buenos.

Finally we arrived, and the weather was freezing but in a very pleasant way, it felt comforting, and the beauty that this place offers us only enhances the excitement I felt, there were flowers everywhere, entering there is a craft sale (which I also regret not having photographed because of the hurry) but they offered different sweets, snacks, desserts and for a change, accessories, especially with quartz of different colors. The vendors offered free samples, I accepted to try a chocolate dessert with almonds and also chimichurri on a chicharron, they were very good.

Estaba muy felíz porque las cosas en la lista se estaban cumpliendo, pero aún faltaba una y no tenía idea de cómo conseguiría frambuesas ya que no habíamos visto en el poco tiempo de estadía que habíamos tenido, hasta que mi mamá antes de irnos, me entrega dos frambuesas. HABÍA UN ARBUSTO DE FRAMBUESAS JUSTO AHÍ, no puedo describir la felicidad que sentí. Me teletransportó justo al momento donde era una niña, estando en el jardín de la casa de mi tía donde había un arbusto de frambuesas, me sentaba frente a él solo para comer muchas de ellas y me deleitaba. Fuí niña una vez más.

I was very happy because the things on the list were being fulfilled, but there was still one missing and I had no idea how I would get raspberries since we had not seen them in the short time we had been there, until my mom, before we left, handed me two raspberries. THERE WAS A RAWBERRY BUSH RIGHT THERE, I can't describe the happiness I felt. It teleported me right back to the moment where I was a child, being in the garden of my aunt's house where there was a raspberry bush, I would sit in front of it just to eat a lot of them and I was delighted. I was a child once again.
Para finalizar, dejaré algunas fotos que tomé camino a casa de mi prima para cerrar el día de paseo. Debo añadir qué siento un inmenso cariño por todas las personas que hicieron posible que sucediera todo en la lista, es decir, mi familia. Cada uno colaboró con mucho amor y pusieron de su parte para complacerme y para que disfrutara aún más de este hermoso viaje a mi amado y mágico pueblito: Caripe.
