I've been to Nagano-ken too early November weekend but not to Suwa. It's my first time hearing about this place.
The Japanese garden on the premises of the castle looks so beautiful!
Would be nice to go there again and try the onsen and the sake!

I never knew anything about the place until I went there either. It's great to go in autumn and I think spring would be nice too, with cherry trees around the lake.
