Welcome to Trinidad: History city and very beautiful from Cuba

in Pinmapple6 months ago

Good beautiful PINMAPPLE community.

Today I bring you a trip I made to this beautiful colonial and historic city called Trinidad or Villa de la Santísima Trinidad located in the central region of Cuba in the province of Sancti Spíritus, which is proclaimed one of the artisan cities of the world and declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

Let’s start!!

The Villa of the Holy Trinity, was the third villa established by the Spanish Crown in Cuba and it is presumed that it was founded at the beginning of 1514, although the exact date is not recorded. The foundation of the town was attended by Adelantado Diego Velázquez de Cuéllar and experienced a rapid development, consolidating itself as one of the most prosperous localities on the island at that time.

As you can see, this city today still retains its stone streets and most of its houses are colonial because in this province there was a high sugar production that enriched the owners of these which attracted a good standard of living and made it a prosperous Villa for those times.

As it cannot be missed since it is a villa that attracts a lot of tourism, we find a block full of local handicraft stalls that unfortunately the day I visited it was rainy but still there were, which allowed me to take some souvenirs that reminds me of my stay in these places.

The recreational centers are very well formed since they still retain the aesthetics of the place and a very cozy atmosphere, we were able to enter the Bodeguita del Medio place that they have cloned in many places in the country and this one seemed very good to me, special to spend some time and get energy to walk all over the town.

Here we find the Convent of San Francisco de Asis located in the very heart of the town with a museum of the fights against bandits where there are weapons and vehicles that were used at that time which takes you to that time, at the top we find its bell tower with views of almost the entire town and also towards the mountains, very engaging.

Many of the large houses have become restaurant centers preserving much of the items of those times, some even have tables inside the rooms with their beds and windows more than 500 years old, people do not live in these houses, it is only of tourism character and others have turned them into sounds of interest to the history of the town. That’s very beautiful and it makes you know the standard of living that these people had.

Here we find the Plaza Mayor, as soon as we arrive I started to take photos, it is almost impossible to put a foot here and not do it, from this point we can appreciate most of the charm of the town, very well cared for and with a very beautiful and well-groomed vegetation, which undoubtedly invite you to sit down and spend some time admiring the surroundings.

On one of the sides of the park we can admire the Church of the Most Holy Trinity point of spirituality with a very beautiful aesthetic and not only on the outside inside it has a beautiful wooden altar that is truly surprising, very beautiful.

Walking in a horse-drawn carriage is truly an impression that you will not find anywhere else, being the street of uneven stones and time gives you an immersion in that time that it seems that you are inside a movie, watching the little locals run through the streets, and some other guajiro with his country clothes arriving from work is really a unique experience. Luckily I came across a day when there was little tourism because of the weather, which I was even more grateful for.

As a curious fact about the trip apart from the tables in rooms and other places in the houses, I also found an interesting place that I had never seen before on another trip so easy to find.

It is a temple that, according to what they explained to me, arose as a result of an oral tradition from an Afro-Aboriginal burial found in the courtyard of this house, counting that act spherolite stones, petaloid axes and fishing elements that belonged to the slaves who inhabited that dwelling at that time. Without a doubt, it was a very interesting, mystical and safe place.

I hope you enjoyed this travel experience as much as I did. Maybe later you will visit these places on your own. There is always something new to discover in each place, something different to explore. I hope you live your own adventure and enjoy it as I have done.

A journey through time, Trinidad is a beautiful city that transports you to the time of landowners and slaves, where men wore suits at all times, a place that seems to be taken from a movie, its visit is highly recommended, and the publication is spectacular. Congratulations 🎊
