A short trip back in time // Un pequeño viaje en el tiempo

As soon as I arrived in Buenos Aires, one of the things I was told the most was that I had to visit the Palermo racetrack.

The truth is that I did not understand so much insistence, since I am not a fan of equestrian activities.

But people kept asking me: "Have you already been to the Palermo racetrack?"

I would ask everyone why they were so insistent that I should visit that place, and I wanted to know what was so special about it, to which everyone would answer: "you have to go, you have to go" and in this way they made me even more curious.

By that time, I was not living very far from there, so between walking, getting lost and asking around, I was able to get to the famous Palermo racetrack.

As soon as I looked at it I understood why everyone was talking about that place.

It has a wonderful layout and architecture.

With an incomparable classic charm.

According to what I could read, it was rebuilt by a French architect named

Louis Faure-Dujarric, who when he came to Argentina, was already very famous in Europe.

And he came to carry out several works in this country to contribute to the modernization of the city in the early 1900s.

While it is undeniable that the Palermo racetrack has a majestic architecture, it is very difficult to describe the feeling of being in its facilities.

It makes you recreate glamorous meetings of the early 20th century, with all the elegance and sophistication of the equestrian activity of the time.

It is impossible not to imagine the gentlemen in hats and the ladies in elegant dresses photographed with those cameras, novel for their time, next to the horses that won important prizes and cups.

To visit the Palermo racetrack is to take an intriguing and captivating trip back in time. I recommend the experience.
