Hello to all travel lovers! Today we will take a walk through the large landscape park of the Gatchina Palace and visit one of the most interesting pavilions located on its territory – the Venus Pavilion.
ONLINE REFERENCE: The Palace Park in Gatchina has an area of 143 hectares. This is the oldest park in the Gatchina landscape park complex. It was broken up under Count G. G. Orlov at the end of the XVIII century. The park area borders the Menagerie, the Forest Priory Park and Sylvia, which are also part of the complex of historical Gatchina parks.
This wooden, green-painted structure is located deep in the park. If you like long walks, you can easily get there by passing several bridges and walking along the winding paths of the park.
In fact, the pavilion is located on an artificial island. It is surrounded by the waters of dug channels. The island itself has the shape of a heart, but if you do not see this place from above, then you will not immediately notice this interesting fact.
Once, when he was still a tsarevich, young Pavel traveled around Europe and saw a similar structure in one of the park ensembles. He liked the idea of such a pavilion so much that he commissioned architect Vincenzo Brenna to build something similar in Gatchina Park.
Now the pavilion is a completely ordinary house, where paintings and decorations have been preserved, which periodically have to be restored due to the proximity of the raw waters of silver lake. But in those years, everything was different here.
During the construction of the Venus Pavilion, several fountains were built, both outside and inside the building. This place literally breathed moisture, the future emperor loved to visit here on summer days, admiring the beauty of the local landscapes.
The subjects of the ceiling lamp are, of course, connected with ancient mythology. Scenes painted by artists show Venus along with other celestial beings.
We have several more interesting places ahead of us, which we will definitely visit in Gatchina Park. It was a long and interesting day. And although there was no direct sunlight, I managed to take a lot of great pictures. And that's it for today!
Привет всем любителям путешествий! Сегодня мы прогуляемся по большому пейзажному парку Гатчинского дворца и посетим один из интереснейших павильонов, расположенных на его территории – павильон Венеры.
СПРАВКА ИЗ СЕТИ: Дворцовый парк в Гатчине имеет площадь 143 гектара. Это старейший парк в комплексе гатчинских пейзажных парков. Он разбит при графе Г. Г. Орлове в конце XVIII века. Парковая территория граничит со Зверинцем, лесным Приоратским парком и Сильвией, которые тоже входят в комплекс исторических Гатчинских парков.
Это деревянное, выкрашенное в зеленый цвет сооружение расположено в глубине парка. Если вам по душе длительные пешие прогулки, вы без труда доберётесь туда, миновав несколько мостов и пройдя по извилистым дорожкам парка.
По сути павильон расположен на искусственном острове. Его окружают воды вырытых каналов. Сам остров имеет форму сердца, но если не видеть это место сверху, то вы не сразу заметите этот интересный факт.
Когда-то, ещё будучи цесаревичем, юный Павел путешествовал по Европе и увидел подобное сооружение в одном из парковых ансамблей. Ему так понравилась идея такого павильона, что он поручил архитектору Винченцо Бренна выстроить нечто подобное в гатчинском парке.
Это сейчас павильон представляет собой вполне обычный домик, где сохранились росписи и отделка, котрую периодически приходится восстанавливать по причине близости сырых вод серебряного озера. Но в те годы здесь всё было иначе.
При постройке Венериного павильона были сооружены несколько фонтанов, как снаружи, так и внутри здания. Это место буквально дышало влагой, Будущий император очень любил здесь бывать в летние дни, любуясь красотой местных пейзажей.
Сюжеты плафона на потолке конечно же связаны с античной мифологией. Сцены, расписанные художниками показывают Венеру вместе с другими небожителями.
У нас впереди ещё несколько интереснейших мест, которые мы обязательно посетим в Гатчинском парке. Тот день выдался длинным и интересным. И хотя прямых солнечных лучей не было, мне удалось сделать множество великолепных снимков. А на сегодня у меня всё!
