Hello to all travel lovers! Today I have a continuation of the story about the Summer Garden located in St. Petersburg on my blog. Today I will touch on the topic of fountains located in the territory of this park.
ONLINE HELP: The Summer Garden is a real symbol of St. Petersburg. It can be called the main and most famous park in the city. This is the oldest garden, which was ordered to be laid by Peter I himself in 1704. The most famous Russian and foreign architects and gardeners worked on the project. Today, the park masterpiece is famous all over the world, it is one of the main attractions of the city. The summer garden in St. Petersburg is framed on all sides by water – the Neva and Fontanka rivers, Lebyazhya Kanavka and Moika. The layout of the park is simple: it consists of three parallel alleys with century-old trees.
If we study the history of the Summer Garden, we can find out that Peter the Great, when creating this garden, conceived it as a fountain park. Versailles and other parks in Paris inspired the emperor to organize this place exactly on the same model.
In those years, Peter the Great commissioned the construction of an entire engineering system to supply water to the local fountains. The Fontanka river got its name from here, before it was called Yerik. The Fontanka riverbed has changed a lot thanks to human intervention.
Now there are several fountains in the Summer Garden, although in previous years there were much more of them. The Emperor really wanted the atmosphere in the Summer Garden to be humid and pleasant for walking. In the following years, the garden plan and the location of the fountains were partially changed.
Even the names of the fountains speak for themselves: "Crown", "Tsaritsyn", "Pyramid". By the way, the Pyramid fountain, according to Catherine II's plan, was supposed to be an exact copy of the fountain in Peterhof. Today, visitors can appreciate and admire these beautiful structures.

Привет всем любителям путешествий! Сегодня у меня в блоге продолжение рассказа о Летнем саде, расположенном в Петербурге. Сегодня я коснусь темы фонтанов, находящихся на территории этого парка.
*СПРАВКА ИЗ СЕТИ: Летний сад – настоящий символ Санкт-Петербурга. Его можно назвать главным и самым известным парком города. Это старейший сад, который в 1704 году приказал заложить сам Петр I. Над проектом трудились известнейшие русские и иностранные архитекторы и садовники. Сегодня парковый шедевр знаменит на весь мир, это одна из главных достопримечательностей города. Летний сад в Санкт-Петербурге со всех сторон обрамляет вода – реки Нева и Фонтанка, Лебяжья канавка и Мойка. Планировка у парка простая: он состоит из трех параллельных аллей с вековыми деревьями.
Если мы изучим историю возникновения Летнего сада, мы сможем выяснить, что Петр I при создании этого сада задумывал его как парк фонтанов. Версаль и другие парки Парижа вдохновили императора на организацию этого места именно по такому же образцу.
В те годы Пётр I поручил соорудить целую инженерную систему для подачи воды в здешние фонтаны. Река фонтанка получила своё название именно отсюда, раньше же она называлась Ериком. Русло Фонтанки сильно изменилась благодаря вмешательству человека.
Сейчас в Летнем саду насчитывается несколько фонтанов, хотя в прежние годы их имелось значительно больше. Император очень хотел, чтобы атмосфера в Летнем саду была влажной и приятной для прогулок. В последующие годы частично менялся план сада и расположение фонтанов.
Даже названия фонтанов говорят сами за себя: "Коронный", "Царицын", "Пирамида". Кстати фонтан "Пирамида" по замыслу Екатерины II должен был являться точной копией фонтана в Петергофе. Сегодня посетители могут оценить и полюбоваться эими прекрасными сооружениями.
