Definitely a rug

It was the year 2020 and the whole world was on lock down. There was no work (at least physical), no school, and I had little to no money on ground. My daily routine was the same: wake up, clean the house, bathe (every two days), and do basically nothing till the end of the day. Just browse through the internet, watch movies, eat and sleep.

It was great at first, but as time went on it started getting boring. Day in day out the same thing, nothing productive, just endless hours browsing through the internet, downloading and watching movies, as well as sleeping. I quickly realized this wasn't the life I wanted to live, when my pockets started getting empty.

This was when a guardian angel was sent to me in the form of @k-banti. He introduced me to cryptocurrency and my crypto journey began. From there it's been an upward slope, not straight up, there's been downs too, but overall it's been up.

One of those downs happened in April 2021 . I remember it like yesterday, it was the era of shit coins. A lot of people had shared testimonies of making 10x, 20x and 100x in shit coins like safemoon and FEG token. At that particular time, my crypto portfolio wasn't doing too well, I was paper handing all my holdings. Any little dip and I move to the next coin that's guaranteed to pump. As I sell it pumps and the new coin I buy dips. Cycle continues. My answer to every dip was :

This continued for a while and I was getting frustrated with crypto. It just seemed like the whole system was against me.

"All these coins are not pumping fast enough, why not try these shit coins people are talking about. See, Mr A is making 10x from his safemoon investment." I thought

I didn't invest in safe moon because I knew it had pumped too much to get in, but I was on the lookout for the next big thing and as expected it came.

One of k-banti's friends shared the launch of a new coin called safemoonart. Apparently it was a subset of safemoon and had the potential to moon on launch.

This was our chance and we were not about to miss it. We gathered some funds and waited patiently for the launch. We joined both the telegram and the Twitter community, constantly checking for updates. And finally the time came. We got in and bought some safemoonart swiftly

It dipped a little for some seconds, and then all of a sudden it started to rise, and rise, and rise. Within minutes it reached 2x and then 5x and 7x. We were ecstatic, we started playing music and singing and dancing. So this is how it feels to make money off a pump.

I was thinking of adding a few more dollars, but it would take too much time, which we didn't have.

Once it got to about 10x we decided it was time to start taking profit little by little. We tried the first time and it gave an error.

"probably network"

We tried again, same thing again.

"change slippage rate to the highest"

It still didn't work.

"OK let's reach out to those in the telegram group."

All the admins' accounts had been deleted. It was then we knew what we were in.

The little money I'd been managing was all gone. We'd just been victims of a rug pull . To think less than 15 minutes ago we were jubilating. We both remained silent for a while, trying to process what had just happened. Then, as though something funny had just happened we both burst Into laughter.

Me and k-banti

It was a painful experience, but from that moment we learnt our lesson. Stay far away from shit coins.

Yeah. In the hard way I guess 😌. Maybe we weren't just lucky that day 😕

@b0s it is always risky to invest that is why I stay away from these schemes. However, what I get from axie infinity, I used to play in Binance with that. It is something like you are not investing your own money.....

Haha, but I don't have any free money to waste invest

Eiiiiiiii
I was literally smiling when your coin pumped up thinking ohh finally you got to profit from it only for me to get to the end part of your post and see it was all rug pull
Damn!!!!!!
Can't imagine how you'd feel.
You'd totally be downcasted.

As I sell it pumps and the new coin I buy dips.

Ohhh this part got me laughing out loud like crypto was not meant for you..lol

It was painful oo, and I was broke at that time. We just had to laugh away our sorrows.

Ohhh this part got me laughing out loud like crypto was not meant for you..lol

Hehe, those were trying times. At some point I was starting to doubt things. I was like " how am I sure they are not manipulating the prices just to reck me 😂😂😂."

😂😂😂😂

😀😀😀😀😀 my life story. I can't count how many coins I bought that rugged during the pump period. Because of coins like safemoon and feg, so many shit coins were invested and a lot of them by scammers. If I share my own story, you'd shed tears for me. These days I try hard not to remember but I'm grateful for the lessons Learnt.

We've all made bad investments one time or the other. This one was just funny because we went from joy to sadness not joy in minutes.

I'm curios though, what shit coins did you buy? Lol

I bought safemoon, little rabbit, all the safes infact and the cake versions of shit coin and bake versions. I can't even remember some of them because they are now extinct 😀😀

Haha, at least we've learnt our lesson right?

Yes we have.

Unfortunately, you need to appreciate a rug pull to know what to avoid in future!
At least you saw the funny side🤣🤣🤣

True, we learnt our lesson. The hard way, but at least we learnt :)

The main thing is that you did learn it😁

ahaha this is so funny man, i will give you the credit you are a good writer! i was pitying you at first, then the story changed when i was reading the safemoonart, i was also rejoicing with you and boom the rug part lol

Haha thanks man. It was a painful, yet funny experience

It's painful and at the same time funny. You guys were laughing at yourself unknowingly when there was a bull run not knowing it was all staged. Shit coins had shown me pepper. Though they can be favourable sometimes, lots bring misfortune. You made me laugh bro.

I have removed my hand from anything that concerns shit coins 😂. Catching the pump and flipping it before they flip on you isn't easy.

I'm glad I was able to make you laugh.

Being new in crypto is definitely hard, especially because you don't know that the markets are volatile and every dump scares you, while every pump makes you believe you are going to 100x... things are a little bit more complicated than that, and as a crypto adept now, you might already know this and won't get scared by minor changes in the market! Thanks for sharing this on LeoFinance.io mate!

By the way @b0s, we noticed that you powered up some LEO tokens in June 15, thanks for joining LPUD and helping the LeoFinance community grow stronger!

It was definitely a rough beginning but I'm starting to understand it very well.

As for #lpud I'm definitely in for this month's edition. Last month I didn't have enough to qualify, but this month I'm planning on buying to power up. Thanks for reminding me of it's closeness, I better head to the market now.
