I went to an atm machine one faithful Saturday morning and noticed a long queue on the line so I joined patiently to wait for my turn before I could withdraw. The service for that day was really bad that the machine was selecting some cards while it was rejecting others. No one was guaranteed that his or her card will pay we justed hope it be of favour to us.
Sometimes the kind of people you meet at the ATM can be very annoying where you have those who will ask annoying questions and those who will come with different cards just to withdraw all at ones. There are even those who don't know how to operate the machine well and asking for assistance from other people is a problem.
As we were hoping for the machine to dispense, a lady tried to withdraw but the machine didn't dispense but brought out her card and then the machine went out of service. This lady however couldn't wait and then left since the machine rejected her card. After like 15 minutes when the service came back, the machine made sound of money that was trying to come out and there was already a lady that was waiting to withdraw when she noticed it as well and before we knew it money came out of the machine.
We are all aware that it was the lady who tried to withdrew last that owned that money but the other lady behind her wanted to claim the money saying she has inserted her card too to withdraw lol. This wasn't a small issue where almost everyone in the queue wanted to beat her but she still stood on her ground that it was her money lol and she is not giving anyone.
Assuming the real owner came back it would have settle because she never came and this resulted to a heavy fight between the lady and the security man in charge lol. The lady still didn't drop the money until someone called the police to arrest her and that was how she was arrested with the money lol.
The ATM machine is not good, when the service came back, it should be able to understand, the operation was cancelled, and it didn't has room to dispensed cash, the lady that left her cash will be seeing debit alerts, without her knowing who withdraw her money, the lady would feel really annoyed, I am thinking how would the bank treat her matter, when she makes a report to them.
I believe she would later get her money because she would do to the bank to explain and the situation would be settled.
It would be better if she gets her money back.
