There was jubilation at the temporary Hive headquarters in Kuala Lumpur when it was announced that the Hive Blockchain Edit Profile Page will be nominated to become the 8th Wonder of the World. This is the first time that a digital tool has been nominated for the prestigious award as two judges called it a miracle in a number of different fields.
"It's amazing" one judge said.
"Hive give you the dimensions to upload your perfect profile avatar which is 512px x 512px. You resize you logo on Canva to fit the recommended dimension. You upload your profile and then bobs your uncle , it disappears. You try it again and again and nothing. Then you try it a 23rd time and it uploads no problem.

"Now for some this is just a bug in the code that any 1st year dev intern could be easily sort. But the miracle is that the code keeps reverting back to the original state and it stays like a lottery. Sometimes it shows up and sometimes it doesn't. It's a roll of the dice. Some say the chosen ones are successful if the avatar appears on the site after the photo uploads will bring Hive to the promised land. Some say it's a curse. For some it never shows up at all."

" Not only this but when you upload the banner with the recommended widths it ends up still all over the place as well. There are certain forces at work here and we can only compare it to the Turin Shroud or the Virgin Mary appearing in Lourdes to those little children."

A Hive spokeswoman for Hive in Venezuela admitted there is not even a record of any dev working on the profile edit screen in Hive.blog, Peakd, Ecency or even at Steem. It just appeared one day and we just left it be. Best to not stir these hoodoos.

There have been rumours that those users that's avatar does not appear are forsaken and death falls upon them quickly. Out of the 150/250 users last month who failed to upload their profile photo ,149 are now dead. The Wonder of the World people tried to track down the only Hive user that was still posting but as they crossed the road @johnny9lifes got hit by a bus. Rumours started to spread that the profile avatar upload screen has opened a portal into a parallel universe and government agencies are doing everything to keep a lid on it.

If your profile photo uploads then you become a part of the Community on Hive. If your profile avatar does not upload then start tying up your loose ends because the grim reaper is coming for you. If your banner and profile avatar both don't upload then you will be eliminated before sundown. It's the way of the profile edit menu. Some adrenaline junkies have been onboarded to Hive for this reason and it has become a modern day Russian Roulette but instead of a gun you have a lovely little photo of you uploading. The C/profile-edit-live-or-die Community is an organically growing Community which has 30 users signed up in a month. 6 times more than the rally car Community. " This is incorrect stats " said one Hive dev. 15 of them have no profile avatar on their Profile page so they are brown bread. Only 15 are active now.

It is said that Hive devs are now afraid to change any code on the Hive profile edit menu in case they succumb to death as well so they just leave it be in all its mid noughties profile upload menu fashion. There is talk of a profile menu change in the upcoming hardfork in November but people are scared and it is hard to hire devs to change a profile edit menu that has a portal to a different dimension embedded in the code. So for now Hive will keep the profile edit menu as it is and just leave it be.

A Hive maximist said "If it takes 24 times to get your profile menu on the page then so be it. The people who fail deserve their own faith. Just keep pressing the upload button. Some cog will turn eventually and it will be the last time you will ever need to do it."

Influencers have left Hive due to this as the perm that was in vogue in 2019 is now a holy show. So rather than risk editing their profile avatar they just decided enough was enough.
"Some say that this is by design to keep the fashionistas away." said one Hive user while he picked his spuds on his homestead."Others say the uploading of the photo 34 times lets only the die hards get in."

When some unsuperstitious character from Finland copied the Hive edit profile screen code into ChatGPT his house burned down and there was a person seen with a Computer as a head, running away from the scene. All these things make the Hive edit profile Screen nominated for the 8th Wonder of the World.

That'd be it then.

😂

I could never spell parallel and I still can’t 😂😂

Apart from seeing a Hive logo in a potato at Asda last week, I've also noticed that at the moment, every time I upvote a comment on the PeakD front end I automatically downvote it at the same time.

No one has been this confused about their true nature since Luke Skywalker found out that Darth Vader used to change his nappies.

Yeah I saw that . The dev told us to stop being old and grumpy and update the website .

OH it wasn't just me??? Brilliant.

Like they say in showbusiness: better bad news then no news.
Great and funny article!

This stems from trying to upload an avatar 23 times and failing 😂😂

Must be Friday :) Time for weekend and some beers.

You know what HIVE needs?

LinkedIn style maddness and temporary avatar frames. #opentovotes or #opentodhf or #witness

Or something else.

Little toast panels . Yes . I like it .

This week, it's the miracle of upvoting a comment only to have it downvote at the same time.
