Today I want to share with you a very funny and experience I had in college. This experience is one that always makes me laugh when I remember it. I trust it would make you laugh also

Dr. Dan was a very popular lecturer, some called him Danny boy because he looked very smallish. Although he was over 40 years old , he looked like an 18 year old. He was short, baby-faced and beardless. I heard he suffered from sickle cell disease and it affected his growth and physique.
Although he had this soft and tender looks of a child, he was as hard as a rock. He was known for his ruthlessness and uncharitableness. He derived pleasure in making students suffer and a lot of students dropped out every year because of they couldn't cope with his attitude and the pressure he put on them. He would give very difficult and bulky assignments and give a very short time frame for submission. He would never extend a submission deadline even if you told him that you are sick. Sometimes he would just come to class and give a surprise test and alot of students would fail the test because they weren't prepared. His exams were the hardest in the country and he gives the shortest time for them. He was just good at frustrating and making life difficult for students

He would emphasize how it was easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a student to come out with an "A"(distinction/excellent) in his course.
He was never empathic, some people said he didn't have a heart. He never listens to the plea of any student neither did he reason with any student. He was very strict and never condoned any excuses. Students didn't smile in his class, he didn't condone that also.
Students hated him so much and had written several petitions for his removal but it always proved abortive. It was as if he was untouchable and he always subtly witch-hunted students that protested against him. Nothing anyone did could make the school drop him. I learnt it was because he was one of the smartest lecturers in the country plus he had made several breakthroughs in his field. Some others say that he is invisible because he comes from one of the richest and most influential families in the state.
Because of how students hated him, they gave him several ridiculous nicknames like; baby Dan , Short-devil, spanner, youngest-oldman, the devil's first son, etc but the most popular amongst the names was short-devil.
I had already heard about him even before I attended my first class in college. Although I had never seen his face, I already knew the name "short-devil", infact everyone did. The name was so popular that it had taken over his real name, most people didn't know his real name, I also didn't . We all came to hear people talk about Dr. short-devil and before anyone knew it, the name had stuck to our heads. It became so normal that people no longer found it insulting or abusive. It was now in our subconscious and students just unconsciously referred to him as Short-devil.
He was in my faculty and like every other student , I also unconsciously referred to him as Short-devil. In my third year in college, I was to offer one of the courses he was teaching and I needed to submit some papers to him.
I learnt his office was in one of the rooms in the laboratory so I went there to see him and submit the papers.
When I got to the lab, there were many rooms (offices) in the lab so I couldn't tell which was his and I didn't even know his real name.
A lot of students were in the lab that day and so the lab was crowded with people. I just walked up to a guy I saw at one end of the lab and I said to him " please do you know short-devil's office ?", He looked at me with a grin and asked "who is short-devil ?". I was surprised that he hadn't heard of the name short Devil and so I showed him the papers I was holding and explained to him that short-devil was the person incharge of the course and I needed to see him so I could submit the papers and also do some registrations.
He looked at me with an enigmatic smile and asked what my name was and I told him, He then wrote down my name on a piece of paper, then shook my hands and told me that he didn't know who the person was. It was quite weird, I really didn't know why a student would be writing my name on a piece of paper.
I was really furious that he had wasted my time, so I sighed and walked away to ask another person. I met a group of boys and told them I was looking for short-devil. Without hesitating they pointed at somebody Walking into an office and they said "there he is, that is short Devil"
Immediately, I was shocked and devastated, I felt a cold chill run down my spine. I realized that the person I had just talked to was Dr. Short-devil.

I couldn't submit the papers anymore, I had to go back home with them. I was so scared that I even fell sick. I knew I was doomed, I then realized why he took down my name. I was at risk of getting a probation or even an expulsion. I knew that the school wouldn't condone such misbehaviours, they would say I was making fun/mockery of his physique and health condition, and with what I had heard about him, I knew it was impossible to get him to forgive me and drop the case.
These thoughts made me so restless and depressed. I couldn't go to school for one week.
Few days later, I over-heard some students in my hostel talking about short-devil, they all seemed aggrieved so I approached them and enquired what had happened.
They said it was a bad news. I insisted on knowing what the sad news was. They then told me that Short-devil whom they all prayed and wished that the school board should sack has been promoted and transferred to another University.
Immediately I heard that he had moved to another University, I screamed "Yay!!!!!", I jumped for joy and even started shedding tears of joy.

I ran back into my room rejoicing. They all looked at me with so much surprise and disappointment. They said I was the only one who was happy for short-devil. Up till date, none of them still knows why I rejoiced. I resumed school the next day.
I learnt my lesson and from that day onwards, I never joined in giving or calling people ridiculous names.

I had those two expressions on my face while reading this. I can imagine the terror when you didn't realize you were actually talking to the short devil directly 😂
Depression is even small thing, some student could have committed suicide self.
But wait o, what if your direct words to him made him leave the school. Like he found out from you that people do refer to him by that name 🤔 that's scarier.

It was the way you addressed him for me..I'm sure he'll not forget about that...even If he smiled im sure it actually got to him to know that students refered to him as a short devil.
But damn, it's beyond depressing, other people could have felt worse..I certainly wouldn't have been able to sleep

If he wasn't promoted, I don't think he would ever forgive you because reading what he is capable of, truly he is so wicked and mean.
