The Incredible Hulk #11 finds the reader in the third installment of a storyline where monsters from all over the planet are after the big green guy in an effort to awaken the Mother of Horrors. their mastermind is Eldest. Philip Kennedy Johnson handled the writer's duties for this story arc. Danny Earls makes a guest appearance as the artist for this book, helping out Matthew Wilson (colors). Nic Klein did a wonderful job with the movie poster style cover artwork. Hulk's battle with Nephele was drawn with the cold colors of blue and green presenting a striking coldness among those panels.

Hulk is trying to save Charlie Tidwell, a young teenage girl who ran away from an abusive home life. She felt safe with Bruce Banner so she ended up following him to different destinations. To escape the police, Charlie hid in an old woman's shop. However, the woman wasn't exactly who Charlie thought she was. She was a serial killer with monstrous characteristics.

The Lightbringer is surprised that Hulk was able to track down Nephele and assures Banner that she will give him no more trouble. Upon entering the shop, the Hulk could hear Charlie calling out to him. But she is in the dark! Then Hulk realizes that Charlie suffered the fate of many of the other victims. She was turned into a doll. Some voodoo may be necessary in the next issue!
