Ithaqa Comic Issue 4 - Roughs Page 26 - Rosie Taking Names

This fight sequence was fun to write for me because of how bonkers the premise is. We got two people astral projecting a piece of their soul back in time to 1890, and getting into a fist fight in a basement of magic-wielding cultists.

We have a reasonably trained WW1 fighter here (Harvey) and then we have a very proficient magic user in Rosie, put those two together and you've yourselves a pretty scrappy 'Time Brawl' haha. Also, don't forget what I said a few posts ago about Chekov's Gun, if you put the gun on the mantlepiece, in the last act you have to use it. Many pages ago we set up that Harvey and Rosie moving around too much would attract the true spiders that live in this TIME WEB - and our heroes are moving around an awful lot.

One of the jokes I often leave behind in my scripts for Theresa and Lisa is that I often just add the word "Time" in front of other words to make up concepts within our universe. For example, a Nageeshi will bite someone or something and I'll say " The Nageeshi's poison - or should I say, TIME POISON, begins to course through so and so veins." I don't know, it amuses me, occasionally it amuses them, and now I can add TIME BRAWL to our lexicon on nonsensical words associated with this comic, haha.
