So the whole party managed to survive the the big boss fight. Even Magnus... whose judicious use of 'Protection from Energy (Fire)' and 'Misty Step' spells saved his bacon from certain fiery doom in a river of lava. But alas poor Brentwick... while he narrowly avoided death, he did have his bell rung pretty hard by an angry demigod. It is yet unclear whether his brain damage will be permanent. Just as it is also unclear whether anyone else will notice a difference.
As to the line "better to ask forgiveness than permission", that's one I've borrowed from an old girlfriend. Actually come to think of it, that was used pretty liberally by almost all of my girlfriends. Not that I'm saying that most ladies are Machiavellian, scheming tricksters... I'm just implying it. 😏
