Surprised that no one ever called me on this. Sheena, Queen of the Jungle is a fairly well-known public domain character. She even had her own movie. And Sheena has the ability to control animals. In the movie she crashed a helicopter by controlling a flock of birds. That's about all I remember from that movie. I suddenly have the urge to re-watch it along with The Beastmaster.
Now if you go back and look at some of the old panels in this chapter, the snakes misbehave whenever they are around Asptha, but there is also a couple of times where there is one snake doing something different from the rest of the snake pack, like it's the only one that is looking behind Medusa at the cell where Sheena is as if they are having an in-depth mental conversation.
See... planting Easter eggs for the next Easter harvest.
Pretty good trick to nullify Medusa's powers this fight. But there's only going to be a pay-off if they can distract Medusa long enough for Mary to turn back from stone to flesh.
Let's hope they have another ace up their sleeve.

Did you ever see the movie Snakes on a Plane? I would have changed one tiiiiny detail at the very end...
I haven't seen it. I just remember it got a lot of hype.
If you ever do watch it because you are particularly bored some day, see if you can guess the one tiny detail at the end that I would have changed. (I'd say it but ... spoiler)
Well, if you decide to keep going on that theme and move on to "Beastmaster 2: Through the Portal of Time", I recommend a bit of strong drink. I happened to rewatch that earlier this year, and hoo-boy it was even cheesier than I remembered back when I first saw it in the early 90's. Though having Sarah Douglas (who most famously played the evil Kryptonian 'Ursa' in Superman 2) in the movie makes it a bit more watchable. Of course I write this while rewatching 1989's "The Return of the Swamp Thing" (also with Sarah Douglas in it), so maybe I'm just a glutton for punishment... 😏
I'm wondering if Deathmaster still stands up. I remember liking that back in the day. I think they made 3 or 4 sequels, too.
